Hi hi hi! I'm Bill from Bolton and just discovering machine sewing.
I started off about a month ago with a £30 mini machine from 'an online place' and quickly became frustrated with its limitations.
Seeeeeeew, I'm now the owner of a sparkly new Singer M2105. A simple machine by some standards but enough bells and whistles to keep me busy.
I've done a few simple bags for my bicycle tools etc and even managed a cylinder bag yesterday :D
My eldest daughter is now calling me grandma because of my new hobby
Look forward to meeting you...in a tinterweb sort of way :)

I didn't think of that!
Not as many as I used to have but yes, guilty as charged with the power tools. I was into carpentry in a previous life now long departed.
I see a fluffy drill bit holder in my future...

Welcome @Wayfarer. Beware of the enablers as before you know it, you'll be buying all sorts. :D

I've used a sewing machine ever since very young but was scared to death of power drills and the like and let 'the man of the house' do all that stuff. Then one day I thought, if I can use a sewing machine I can use an electric power tool. The main difference is that the tool will move and the work will keep still(ish!) It stood me in very good stead when the man upped and left.
Fluffy drill bit holder, now there's a thought
