My godchild has become 18 this year and she will finish college in June, to conitnue on university in autumn. That's reason enough to make a nice quilt in her favourite colours.
I must admit that I have never really sewn a LogCabin, although I have a whole book of this wonderful pattern at home.
So it's a LogCabin Quilt to be :)
That's the plan:

And that's my first success after 3h of sewing :D

The fabric was chosen be DH and even prewashing and ironing was done by the best husband in the world :loveit:

It's coming on nicely! I really like it!

OOoooooo I love your pattern and colours, just terrific. I've never done a log cabin but after seeing yours....it's on the list!
-
Oh I love Log Cabin blocks. There are so many ways to place them, I could juggle them for hours.
-
Lovely stuff, just the right amount of contrast but they do look real fiddly...
Are they strip pieced? What size are the strips???
Do I need to look after your electronic copy of this book???
Lantana, Sakar and her hubby are just married !!! (last May!)

@all: Thanks everybody !!
@Ruby: just try it! It's easier than I thougt!! :)
@Imi: The strips are 5,5cm (cut) or 4cm (sewn), one LogCabin Block is about 32x32cm.
Yes, of course are the stripes pieced. How do you make LogCabins? :P
Here is a little update.... ;)

Not in the least fiddly - you just sew strips round and round. It does help if you cut the strips to size, rather than use the sew and whack method. You can get all sorts of designs with log cabin blocks, like HSTs, as that's the effect the block gives you (without cutting a single triangle - just up your street RW? :D).

Iminei, log cabin is brilliant for qayg. The first thing I ever did was a qayg log cabin wall hanging and sewed each strip on through all layers so it was instantly quilted.
-
I agree with DOB ( would I dare do otherwise :P ) Log Cabin is very easy to do but can look very effective.
Yours is looking great Sakar <3

Do I need to look after your electronic copy of this book???
It's a German (http://www.amazon.de/Alles-Log-Cabin-Sabina-Schr%C3%B6der/dp/3937703195/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493118409&sr=8-1&keywords=alles+log+cabin) one, but if you want, I could send you some impressions of the book. ;)
