@HooliganHeart - welcome to the forum - best wishes on all your sewing endeavours.
Have a sister back in N.Ireland for the second time and can't settle at all....no roots...i.e. family....and they would have gone back again to the Toronto area but for Covid.  All we hear is how good Canada is and how it is done in Canada etc.
She left N.Ireland at least 30 years ago.

Evening Gavin - welcome to the forum and my best wishes for all your future sewing endeavours....and boy there will be lots of challenges coming your way.  There are folk on here who have done similar things so I will leave it up to them to encourage/discourage you as and when they arise in the morning, they are all mostly early risers.....I am not.

Hello @CraftyIrish - this is your formal welcome but we have been 'speaking' - Kildare - horsey country - DIL who lives in Scotland visits a breeder to buy a horse now and again.
I am in County Tyrone - usually referred to as 'Tyrone among the ditches'.
Hope you enjoy the folk here - I'm no expert but there are others who can answer any question you care to ask and they'll tell you there are no silly questions.
Take care and stay safe.

Sewalongs and Competitions / Re: TSPs Bi-Annual Autumnal Mug Rug Swap,
« on: September 22, 2020, 22:46:44 PM »
I just wish there was a proper Harvest Thanksgiving in Church this year as I would have taken @Kitten's rugs and used them on a windowsill with other autumn items of foliage etc.
Sadly there will be no decoration in our church this year, no social gathering to decorate the church which usually ends with tea and whatever cake is brought by us.
Hopefully we will have one 2021 and I will use them then.

Oh I so agree with all of you - @Acorn, they are so beautiful....sorry I am, nor ever will be, a true P & Qer at all but I so admire the work of those of you who are so experienced and can create such excellent items.

Just here to publicly thank @Kitten for her most appropriate Autumnal offerings - really love them to bits - I am relying on her to post her own photos as I am hopeless in that department.

Lovely to see some spectacular work already - mine is very mundane compared to what I've seen already but I did want to take part.
Thanks again Kitten.

Hernibs has no access to a camera at the moment so has asked me to insert the pics, Kitten took before sending the MR's over the sea to the island of Ireland (as everybody seems to be calling it these days???)  Imi xxx

Will thank you better after I open tomorrow.

Iminei - you can count me in - albeit mine will be 'loosely' autum but as haven't time to do any more two from my stash will suffice.
Incidentally I was having a cup of tea and watching the last house on Escape to the Country today and there was an article on it about old road signs and how they are made....and there was Blandford Forum 9 miles on one......wow - I actually 'know' someone from there!!

I get the feeling there's a joke here I'm not in on

Don't worry @John1964 - those two are always knocking spots off each other....or as the Americans say 'off of each other'

Anyhow welcome to the forum...best wishes for all your endeavours from Northern Ireland - I am the sensible one of the two of us from this part of the world...ahem.

Embroidery and Embellishment / Re: Art or embroidery?
« on: August 21, 2020, 21:56:26 PM »
I've been embroidering since I was a child, maybe eight or nine and I can't do French knots. I have followed every tute and instruction and nope!  :headbang:
I like the Monet stylee ones and the bee and the church...and some of the others....

The Monet #9 is the best of all.....more attractive colours...the rest are too vibrant for me....as for whether art or embroidery....for me it is both!
