Sorry for your loss @twopence

@Bjay, are the visitors young and fit? If so prep them to help you when they arrive.

I have done some more packing, and everything is labelled up well.
First removals came round to quote us today and seemed happy re the wardrobes from the mezzanine.
I can see its going to be flat pack hell when we get to the new house!

Thanks @Iminei and all the lovely participants.

I am pretty tired tbh, today I've been repacking the things we brought over in multiple car loads in open topped crates into various random cardboard boxes OH has sourced locally for free.

The one that amused me the most is labelled 'Extension Leads and Hulahoop'. The hula hoop comes apart into sections meaning it fitted into the same box as the extension leads....

Potential moving firms for this next stage are coming over the next 2 days.

If its still warm once I've moved and got the sewing machines unpacked I want to sew another pair of cotton shorts as I've worn them a lot.

Hi folks, got a few options for August

- extend the Awesome Accessories for another month.
- have a summer break
- have the jellyroll/1m contest, but I'll need some help coming up with some sensible rules as I've not got them sorted.

I have now completed on my house sale and moved out, with most stuff in storage and some stuff at OH's flat, where  we're living temporarily until we can move to our bungalow in mid/late August hopefully.

Hi folks, anyone planning on entering the Awesome Accessories contest?

Misty here today, drizzle forecast.
Yesterday after noon we managed to book the removal/storage firm for 20th, so today's agenda is more packing.
More packing boxes are coming today thankfully.
Dinner is going to be from the freezer...

Hiya everyone, I'm currently packing my house up to go into storage on 20th July - just over a week!!!!

I've already lost my home office (desk/second screen etc) so the prep for the voting is really difficult as it involves lots of copying and pasting which is easier with two screens.

So if you're all OK with it, I'll delay the voting a bit until I've landed at OH's flat (22nd July). There's a desk/screen there.

We don't know when we'll get to our new place probably September sometime.
I will have a sewing room again once we get to the new house, but didn't take enough measurements (it has wall lights) to work out where the furniture will go, so that'll be a project for later.
I'm trying to add in a futon (from the flat) so it can double as a guest space if needed, and it'll be nice to have a sofa to sit on for hand sewing, pattern browsing and etc.

Well I've been watching the football after a busy day of packing. Quite enjoying it, and thought the banner was fun.

Packing wise there are a lot of boxes labelled fabric, sewing patterns, sewing magazines, sewing room.
OH is being very calm about it but we're going to need more boxes.
After the move there will be some destashing!

Right better scan in today's important post (we've started doing that as easier to access bills etc) and then more boxes!

Can't believe I'm first on the thread today.
More packing and filling up the bins.
Going to be another busy day

I am still packing.
It rained quite a lot earlier today which cooled things down. Relieved as I was fetching things (mostly fabric) out of the loft.
Got myself seriously knackered and went for an afternoon nap.

OH has been helping and has been quite restrained in his comments re the fabric. The new house is slightly bigger than my current place, but without the boarded loft, plus we need to get two households worth of stuff in. Hmmm.
I forsee many discussions about what to keep and trips to the charity shop!

cloudy here.
More packing.....

Does this include knitting or weaving?

@Celia, yes and I've updated the wording in the first topic.

@Gernella I have moved a few times over the years, but never put all my stuff in storage for a move.
If I think too hard about it, it is overwhelming, so I'm just working one bit at time.

Have just sent up my Royal mail forwarding to OH's place.
Put a few bits out on the pavement with a free sign - all went in less than an hour - guessing taken by a passing van.
Less to pack.

Completion date for my house sale is agreed (21st July), so packing up to move everything to storage - argh!
Going to live at OH's apartment for a bit, (4, 6 8 weeks who knows) before we can move to our new home.
Couldn't get the dates to line up, but at least we have sales and purchase going through.

Let the sewing begin!

I'm packing up my house contents to go into storage as the house sale and purchase don't line up, so will be watching but not participating.
