Found a lovely, 100% silk skirt at the thrift store today for $5!! And it fits! (And I'm tickled pink that my waistline is finally horizontal again!) But I don't have a top that will go with it- alas, I will have to buy fabric and sew something. What type of top would you suggest to go with this skirt?

That is beautiful, great find. I like the way you've styled it with socks. How about a silk shell top in one of the colours?

@WendyW well done, that's a bargain find. Beautiful colours and a nice shape skirt, I'd go for a straight non-fussy top to balance the skirt hemline, or a shirt with flared sleeves to match the hemline. Do show us when finished :loveit:

Gorgeous! Why do I never find anything like that in charity shops?
I'd say a simple, fairly plain top in white to make the turquoise pop.
