A Good Yarn / Re: Exotic Burst Cowl by Dolly Bhardwaj
« on: October 17, 2020, 06:14:11 AM »
I found myself sitting chatting (mother!) t'other day and wishing I had some knitting on. I haven't knit for ages and I'd love to start something... :loveit: It makes me feel as if I'm very busy even when I'm being a lazy lump!

I have made a collection of Latvian and Norwegian style mittens which I am sure I will never wear but I love them, I do give some away sometimes but still have too many and am still knitting.

Mitten bunting! :loveit:

I have the FS130QC and if it was my first machine I'd think it was great. It's not. It struggles with multiple layers of quilting fabric and would probably keel over at the thought of anything heavier. The stitch length is inconsistent and the decorative stitches are very hit and miss. My old 70s Singer beats it into a cocked hat as far as banging through jobs. If I ever upgrade it will likely be to a Pfaff or a Janome because of the comments I've seen on the forum.

I have made one for each of the beds except my own (note to self...). This year's BOM will hang in the spare room as it matches the two I've made for there.
Him indoors thinks quilts are old fashioned so he can jazz on my hump and I'm in the throes of making one each for two of his boys. I'm hoping they're not quite as thick as their dad.  ><
I'll make a nice one for my niece (I made her a little one) possibly soon, as she and her current beau seem quite smitten!!!!  :loveit:  ;)
The sofas and chairs need some and PL is on the back burner but almost complete.
Changing out the seasons is a brilliant idea and my 'still in kit form' Christmas one may be made reversible.
All this talk of armoires and displays has made me think... 0_0

Hi, I'm new... / Re: I haven’t even bought a needle yet....
« on: October 14, 2020, 08:15:46 AM »
Who knew there were so many machines for stabbing tiny holes into clothes....

We did!

Good luck with this...it's going to be great!
You could start your own diary thread to chart your progress and let the nosey parkers interested parties follow your every move or the House Beautiful board would probably come close... I suspect most people just use the 'unread topics' function so we'll find you wherever you post. Up you'll pop in a swathe of canvas!

Welcome to the forum! We'll have you bankrupt kitted out in no time. :ninja:

It really was!  I would happily have voted for any of them.*  In the end it came down to 'If you were told you could have any one of these in your size, which would you choose?'

* Hey, @wrenkins - maybe some day we could have a contest where we had the same number of votes as entries...?!   ;)

An excellent plan! That wouldn't give me a breakdown at all.  0_0
I had a terrible time choosing.  :S

Overlockers & Coverstitchers / Re: Bernina DCC009 funlock

That is a beautiful looking stitch. It I've absolutely no idea what I'd use it for. I've no ability or will to make knickers, swimwear or dance wear which is about all I can see they're used for. Still tempting though.

What have you got against knickers???  :o

We have a tie!

I am awaiting word from the adjudicators in case you both have to Lipsync for your lives.

Meanwhile I'm declaring two winners.

CONGRATULATIONS LILIAN AND SYRINX!
