And there is 35% off with code  STITCHFRENZY35 until Sunday then it drops to 30%. Plus the code sewme10 and welcome15 work along side it (even if you are an "old" customer).

Your Favourite Suppliers / Re: Pattern printing

I recently ordered 3 patterns (all3 pages) and they only charge £1.75 postage. The total was only about £13 and 2 of the patterns were coloured ink at no extra cost. Don't know how they do it.

House Beautiful / Upholstery fillings
« on: November 07, 2023, 09:48:52 AM »
I am going to reupholster my settee/chairs again but want to replace the back cushions with something softer. At the moment they are a shaped piece of foam, which were disintegrating last time i recovered them so dread to think what they are like now if i take of the covers.
Any ideas of what i could use instead? What are the seats/backs of  modern sofas filled with? And any suppliers you can recommend?
I have used E-Foam before for the seat pads and will probably replace the seat pads using foam.

There are a few prolific sewists on here and don't always post the results.

Guilty as charged, I keep telling you i will start posting again and then things happen and though i keep sewing i never get round to sharing. I am going to catch up with photos and show you some of my makes, @SewRuthieSews watch this space and i will eventually show you what i made with the fabric i bought from you

Does anyone have this pattern?
Does it have lengthen/shorten lines? Thinking it would make a nice dress and the l/s lines would take the hard work out of
working out were to lengthen it from.

Not succumbed, yet. But i have been looking at it for a while. Keep checking eBay for back issues but even they are expensive.

@Ohsewsimple to toile or not to toile that is the question. Answer, never unless i am making for others. I don't wear anything fitted so no need for many alterations to patterns other than my usual lower bust dart and increase at waist (or were waist should be). The fabric was only £4 so i could consider this a toile.
Any way decided that this type of yoke is just not me. I will at some stage change the pattern to a boring round neck and "proper" sleeves.
I have managed to re-use the fabric, plus a 1/2 metre piece left over, and today have made the SA Flick top, again.

Why, when you finally decide to buy a very expensive pattern that you have been looking at for ages and the spend all afternoon making it do you decide you don't like it.
I bought the Bristol dress  pattern
The yoke is far too low on me and it feels like i am loosing my vest straps all the time and keep wanting to hitch the dress up. Plus it is too long and feels frumpy. Fabric was a stable knit from Fabworks, only £4 a metre so nothing lost there.
I will try again and modify the yoke/sleeves, the pattern was way too expensive to give up on it.
