If it just the base you want what about a t shirt pattern elongated. I can vouch for this one I have made 4 dresses over the summer and a number of t shirts, all go together beautifully and you can mix and match sleeves/neckline etc.

I have had a number of pieces of wool from fabworks all 100% wool, some light weight some heavy (melton for a duffel coat). I have washed all of them, prior to making up, on a wool wash and have had no shrinkage or felting. BUT I have found that the quality does vary and I always visit the mill.
They do offer samples at £1 so may be worth sending for and washing to see how they react.

« on: May 27, 2019, 14:38:28 PM »Search on Sun Shade mesh or Sun Shade Netting - most is for external uses, but you may find something that will work for you@Morgan this is what I did but apart from the outdoor stuff, which is too course, the only other fabric is from china and America. I have just seen some sun protection fabric on Active Fabrics so will send for a sample, although it doesn't look as if it Is see through.

I am looking for some fabric to make a sun shade for a window. I was thinking something like the stuff that the shades for car windows are made of. Has anyone come across any to buy by the metre? The only stuff I can see comes from China and didn't want to go down that route.
Alternatively anyone any ideas what else I can use. It has to provide good shade but you can still see through it.

@dolcevita love that fabric, viscose is not something I have worn but I have seen some I like. I always associate drapey with clingy. Does it cling?

There's a length of red which an embroidered design which I believe is for making a 'Kurta' an ethnic clothing style. full embroidered neck/frontispiece and sleeve bands with sufficient fabric to continue for the back and sleeves.That sounds lovely, were/when are you selling?
It's a learning curve.

Mainly patterns and when I do use plain I usually embroider something on it. The only plain things I have are RWT tee shirts.
