and so 121 days after the Project Linus Quilt Challenge was launched we have the results ......
TSP's Project Linus Quilt Challenge (https://photos.app.goo.gl/ToGv1udpmDgcv9hZ9)
We have had pictures/quilts from 7 of our 9 contestants, sadly Ella has had to withdraw from the contest due to circumstances beyond her control and Lowena did not submit her pics.
We are hoping to make a mass donation of the quilts to Project Linus on the Thursday of FOQ, around 1.30pm, They will be on stand A50 ... so if you are at the NEC why not make a beeline to Stand A50 and meet us there!!!!!
So please view these beautiful creations and vote for your 2 most favourite quilts!!!!
Voting will run for 14 days,
you can vote for two quilts only and change your mind until the end of voting.
The Winners will receive a Beautiful TSP Prize Winner Badge or a Trio of Fat Quarters in their colours!
-
<3 Beautiful work ladies. <3
Lovely colour combinations.
Vote for only 2? This is going to be very, very difficult. :S

I have voted, but I have to say it was a bit of a lucky dip - they are all lovely. There is such a lot of hard work there - well done everyone!!
-
Voting was very difficult - such beautiful work <3
-
They're all beautiful, lovely designs and beautifully finished. I'm sure the lucky recipients will be very pleased. Very hard to choose, but I have voted.
-
I have at least three tied for first place ... they are so stunning!
Maybe TSP Bear will have to vote ????
-
I have voted.
I think the idea of restricting to 2 opposite colours was genius, it has made some very striking quilts.
-
I have voted.
It's so difficult. They're all beautiful. :loveit:
-
Crikey! There isn't a single one there that I don't absolutely love!
I'm going to have to give this some thought...
-
Oh Dear, there are three that I really, really want to vote for.
More thought needed. -<
-
and Lowena did not submit her pics.
@Lowena are you OK? You posted a couple of days ago about not feeling too well and we haven't heard from you since.
-
That's it. I've voted. :)
I've thought it over and have returned to study the quilts about four times throughout the day.
One of them was chosen because it looks so inviting...I want to touch it and snuggle up under it, and I chose the other one because I love the choice of colours and the design.
@BrendaP I think I spotted Lowena earlier today on the FoQ thread regarding their plans to eat out.

Hello @BrendaP thank you for thinking of me <3 I am beginning to feel a bit better and hoping to be back posting tomorrow or Friday if I feel up to being vertical :D
I'll have a good look then, had a quick glance and they all look good..... sorry about mine but it wasn't very good anyway. Might still get it finished -< Off back to bed x
-
I voted, then voted again, then changed a vote...so very hard to pick two. Congratulations all of you! :toast:
@Lowena do hope you feel better soon.
-

@Lowena thanks for the update. Look after yourself and take the rest you need - and don't feel guilty about it! :*
-
Right Oh! I've voted but it was such a difficult decision, they are all very good.
-
I have favourite colour schemes and favourite designs. It's like choosing between children or pets. :( I keep changing my mind.
-
Crikey....some lovely, lovely work.
@Lowena sorry you're feeling poorly..hope you're picking up a bit today <3
-
Horribly difficult, and all worthy winners. I've simply gone with personal preferences.
Beautiful work, all of you!
Jessie
eta, hope you're feeling better soon Low!
-
So I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes :'(. Not sure if I'm just feeling sorry for myself or awe at the wonderful workmanship (workwomanship?) or just pain relief that in the end I didn't have to pit myself against you lot!
My first quilt in my new sewing room will be for Project Linus.
@Lowena take care of yourself, stressing about PL was doing you no good, I'm pleased to see you posting again. <3 :flower:
-
Oh my, so difficult but I made up my mind and voted.
-
Yours would have been wonderful Ella, we all know that ... Fancy a trip to FOQ this year? My treat?
-
Now that I've voted am I supposed to not see how the votes are going because I can't?
I'm sure with voting for other competitions I have been able to see them after I have voted but perhaps not.
-
It's all part of the suspense @Ploshkin You'll have to wait for the best part of a fortnight........unless you change your vote ;)
-
After I voted little bars came up to show me how it was going but those have now disappeared. I suppose it's for fairness. Someone might be influenced to vote for someone who hadn't very many. :)
Exactly Wrenkies, I promised an anonymous vote and after a couple of blunders on my part, we now have one!
Also its fun to see if we can guess who's whose !! (did I get that right any ex english teachers??)
-

@Iminei you'll have me sniffing again! Thanks for such a kind offer but at the mo I don't want to leave Mr EB on his own for too long.
Next yeat I'll be there I promise.

Beautiful work ladies, they will bring such comfort to the lucky recipients.

Lovely quilts!
I passed on my voting to 2 experts. My boys. They thought it was a lovely idea and if they were poorly they said they would like a quilt as special as those.
Actually we were in hospital on Monday, oldest slipped off a rope swing at max swing and landed badly. Right wrist in split for 3 weeks but as he says it doesn't hurt much I think they were being on the safe side and one week might be enough. As we were about to get in the car for a picnic lunch I passed youngest, his lunch and car seat to my friend who was joining us with her two. Oldest and I ate picnic in x-ray waiting room and met up with them for cinema in the afternoon.
-
Oh dear, @Bogwoppit Hope his arm is better quickly. Have you signed his cast?
-
He's not got a cast, just a velcro fastened splint on his wrist. To be honest I think it was just twisted and bruised. Doctor did say that the suspect bit in the x-ray might just the way his bone is but without an earlier x-ray to compare with you can't tell. Very little pain after the first day.
3 in his class and another 2 kids we know had broken arms in the past few months so this was probably on his mind. Always best to get checked if concerned though and he was very pale for a long time.
It has meant the curtailment of long days out so I've started my first quilt. If it works I think it will go to project Linus.
-
So hard to choose as they are all are lovely
-
They all look fantastic, well done to everyone who did one.
-
Talk about vote early, vote often. I don't know how many times I've changed my vote. :S I love them all.
-
Is anyone else playing 'guess who made which quilt?'
-
How do you change your vote?
-
Photos added of our meet up showing all the quilts before the Mass invasion of the Project Linus stand....

-
How do you change your vote?
There's a little symbol, a + sign in a green square, just below the poll. If you click on it there's the option to remove your vote, and then you can vote again. I know this, because I have changed my vote several times. I really need to stop looking at the fab pictures, because I keep noticing lovely little details and thinking 'oh hang on a minute, maybe ...'
They are all stunning, and every one of them deserves to be a winner!
-
I left my voting until nearer the cut-off date because I couldn't make up my mind. I thought it'd be easier if I took a long time making up my mind, but it hasn't made any difference. They're all lovely. I keep changing my mind, but I've voted now, and I'll stick with it, but they're gorgeous - so much work has gone into them. <3
-
They are all stunning, and every one of them deserves to be a winner!
You are sooo right @Fiona M ...
but each and every quilt will be a winner when they are snuggled round a child!!!
-
What a MARVELLOUS Response to our Project Linus Challenge!!!!

FAB-U-LUSS work ladies. Absolutely brilliant! <3
Are you going to tell us who did what @Iminei?
-
Congratulations to @Ploshkin and @Fajita
All the quilts were great, it was very hard to decide which to vote for.
-
Well done, @Ploshkin and @Fajita . Seeing all the quilts at Festival of Quilts didn't make it any easier to decide which ones to vote for.
-
Well done Ploshkin & Fajita
-
Congratulations and well done to you both.
-
Congratulations :toast:
I love both designs, and the colours are gorgeous.

Ploshkin was magnificent in Magenta and Green

Fajita sizzled in those deep, deep, deep Oranges and Blues

@Iminei I think she meant who made the other quilts, not the winners.
Congrats to both of you :)

-
Did they appreciate the donation @Iminei ? I have heard mixed reviews about heir gratitude -<
-
Congratulations to the winners!! :toast:
But it was really difficult to decide, I would like to have minimum 4 votes for the next time ;)
-
Congratulations, worthy winners but all entries are beautiful. It was very difficult to choose as the styles were so different but I'm sure the lucky recipients will all be grateful. I'm in awe of the skill in creating these quilts, I don't have to be nearly so precise when dressmaking.
-
@Iminei I have received my winners badge, thank you.
-
Wow, well done @Ploshkin and @Fajita :drink: :cake: - and gorgeous quilts all. I'd love to have seen them in person.
-
My badge has arrived, thankyou, @Iminei :flower:
