It is finished except for the sleeve hems but.... it is rather too tight in the bodice! I know I have put on about half a stone over the last couple of years but as this was a new pattern to me I should have measured myself but I didn't, that'll teach me. So I'll try to slim my midriff down somehow so more exercise is required I think 
I can wear it but I'll have to cover up with a cardi to hide the bulgy bits

All I could manage was pinning and tacking a zip into place, I got too hot and retired to my cooler bedroom with a cold drink.

This afternoon I sewed the side seams and pinned the hems, the zip is next, it is only a 16" so should go in OK. If I make this pattern again I'll change the order of construction and do a neck facing rather than lining the bodice and get the zip in earlier. As this was a new pattern to me I followed the instructions .

Did a bit more today, the zip is next, I have pinned the hems. This is how it is looking so far, sorry about wonky photo.

The skirt and bodice are pinned together but I still haven't got a suitable zip, slow progress here.

I came in here for a while and repositioned and pinned the bodice to the skirt of my dress, I still haven't got the right zip for it, it will be ready for next summer at this rate. I forgot to go to Franklins when I was in town this morning to get some more zips. Having a rest before watering the shader bits of the garden.

Sorry Ruthie I won't be sewing today, I have finished cleaning out the fridge freezer and I am tired with a hurty back but I am looking at some red corduroy destined for trousers so I might find the pattern for when I want to start.

I was in earlier when I finally got around to slimming down the flaring side panels of the lilac chambray skirt I made some months ago. Each side seam has been reduced by 8" at the hem. Another little job done.
