Years ago I came across this bargain fabric. A lightweight silk satin on clearance for $2 a metre 0_0 I bought 10 metres! It's not really a colour I would wear but I thought it would do for making toiles if nothing else. Well I've never cut into it, and it's occurred to me that it would make a lovely pyjama set.
I'm thinking a camisole, long pants, shorts in a tap pant/french knicker style, and robe. And maybe put some aside to make a matching bra when I finally get around to giving that a try.
I'd love to buy some lace to go with it but as I'm not able to trawl the shops to find a good colour match, I'm thinking it'll be too hard to match if I buy online. So I'm thinking a coordinating colour instead of matching.

What is everyone's suggestions on a coordinating colour? The only thing I can think of is grey, but not sure it will be right. Or perhaps navy?
My other option is to dye the fabric a different colour, maybe teal. I recently dyed my first piece of silk fabric and was surprised how easy it was. Not sure whether I would be able to get the shade right though, dyeing over green.

I think the answer might be in the photo ;)
There’s a piece of ivory fabric in the top left corner and I think an ivory or cream lace would look well with the green.
-
Or black???
Yeah ... I know, I'll slink back to the Darkside ....
-
Navy lace would work. Personally, I'd dye it. I don't do green either. I think teal would work, but so would blue. A petrol blue dye would probably give a teal result.

I would do black too. For the non-black choice I would do ivory, rather than grey.
-
Ivory or ecru, I would avoid darker colours in case the colour runs when washed.
-
Ivory or black. Or just possibly bright red.
I personally wouldn't try dyeing it as there's always the risk that it will end up blotchy.
-
Ivory...
-
I'd go for Ivory or cream
-
Or even white?

Ivory, ecru, cream.
-
Raspberry or navy.
Green goes with everything. Ever see a flower that didn't suit it's leaves? 0_0

My firs thought was white, though cream would work just as well. That's a matter of preference or possibbly of availability.

Thanks everyone, seems like the consensus is for white, Ivory or cream.
And, I’ve just realised that there’s a good chance I’ll find some amongst my grandmother’s stash (she has gone into care and mum and I are slowly sorting her things. If you think you’ve got a big fabric stash... it’s nothing on this one). It’s likely I might even find something vintage.

Ok, I throw a cat among the pigeons @elisep. I’d go either for a a green or into teal/turquoise/blue territory
