It's a beginner pattern and she's got a full tutorial online for it. Really recommend!

The last time I ordered from TheFoldLine I forked out in getting it printed with them, and the paper was great. Plus they sent an envelope to keep the finished pattern pieces in which was really strong and sturdy.

I'm not sure if I'll do it again because it was kind of pricey, but I just thought I'd mention it here.

Guthrie and Ghanis website lets you buy in 10cm increments and also prices by the metre. I understand it's more costly to have that capability, but I really appreciate it and it makes me want to buy from there over somewhere that only sells by the metre or half metre. I wish more businesses did that, especially because in this day and age we can't really afford being 'forced' into buying more fabric than we need and creating waste.

Fun with Fabric / Re: Nice fabric, but...

I think that it's beautiful, and pretty perfect for a wrap dress actually! It's a lovely colour, one that I find suits a lot of people, I'm sure you'll be no exception!

I've had success with shaving foam on blood stains, maybe give that a go? You have to leave it for a bit and give it a scrub.

Photos using fabric with a clear right and wrong side, not too much distracting patterns and preferably on the lighter end of the colour spectrum.

That might be a bit much to ask. I don't mind drawings but they can get confusing (especially if right and wrong sides aren't marked clearly).

This is very beautiful, classy and versatile. You made a great choice of fabric there.

It's amazing isn't it! I had a dress with twelve buttons that i was dreading doing the buttons for, but it only took me half an hour to do all of the buttons and button holes. My mum had previously offered to sew the buttons on for me, and she was amazed at how quick I did them on the machine.

I've just checked my coat and both the zip and the placket are centered, but the snaps not, because the placket starts before the zip (if that makes sense) and both pockets are equidistant from the placket edge.

The pocket thing would really annoy me to be honest. I was having a similar problem with jeans pockets and I ended up leaving them off. I understand that I'm a bit too pedantic though.

Thank you everyone! Everyone did so well and it was really cool to see how different people played about with their stripes.

Oh my gosh, thank you! There were so many really amazing and fun entries that I'm quite shocked, but I really appreciate it.

Suzy furrer also has a class on craftsy/bluprint. If you've already got a subscription that's a good option!

They don't always put all of the finished garment measurements on the packet though, which frustrates me. You have to open them up to find a lot of the detail that you need. I find that indie patterns are a bit more forthcoming with their finished garment measurements so that you can check before buying.

@indigotiger That's so cool how you've played with stripes. You've made some really intelligent decisions to make the most out of your fabric and it looks fab!

@renita There's something about your dress that reminds a bit of the fourth doctor from Doctor Who, in a very good way! I can't believe you handwove your fabric, very cool!

I've made one of TATB patterns and I wasn't a fan. I know that a lot of people like the patterns because the instructions are very beginner friendly, but I remember the instructions being inconsistent. They were also more difficult than necessary in my opinion.
