ONCE WRENKINS...YOU'VE DONE IT ONCE!
Next Question.
I want to ME (text) on an already layered and quilted item ... Which stabilizer should I use, if any ??
(I know, I know I have done this with The Village but for the life of me I cant remember what I did ... Dementia anyone?)
I can recommend the Brother V3, and it's Upgrade Kit to increase to a 12" x 8" hoop :P 0_0
...Im terrified I'll come home with a brand new machine (yeah Right! ... and you can read that anyway you wish) ;)
@Iminei I hope you have some fun tomorrow.Imi, agreeing with what everyone else has said, especially Greybird.
And hell yeah, if you want it, you have it! And as @Celia says, all the other talk is rubbish. I’ve been there. There is life after the arsehole you married. It takes time. I got a job, volunteered at school, made some new friends and remarried.
You don’t need to 'justify' buying something you want. Why do women do that? Men never do.
Time to do things that make you happy because you’re worth it. Ooh, L’Oréal moment anyone? :)
Sitting here wondering if @Iminei has succumbed to temptation...
What do they mean when they say 'contains sheer stitching' ????
@Iminei if you are still looking for heavyweight soluble I can vouch for this one (https://www.bsk.co.uk/backings-stabilisers-for-embroidery-heat--n-bond-26-c.asp) I have done freestanding butterflies using just one layer of this and it works a treat. In fact this is were I get all my stabilisers from.
I now need to talk about stabilisers and suppliers ... general and more specifically I need a heavyweight soluble for freestanding butterflies.
This is a fascinating thread! I have been toying with getting a machine that does embroidery. Well my old model Bernina 570QE does but the embroidery is an extra piece of equipment to buy (about £1000, I believe). I need to know more before any decisions are to be made.
@Iminei
I have bought an in the hoop 'project'
It says to open and print the dieline thingy but whilst I can open it in my PES Lite software there is no facility to print!
Its only a rectangle, why cant they say 'cut a x x by xx rectangle of fabric' ... Or am I missing something here ?????
Really need your help here Oh wise embroidery peeps ...
OK I clicked on design properties and it says ... 3.43" x 6.81" ... and 3.07 x 6.45 !!!??? :S
Can anyone decipher these measurements for me into 8ths of an inch ???
Soooooo should I just cut fabric to that size (yeah right like Im that accurate) Or ... ???
(Oh dearie, dearie me ... Why on earth did I think I could cope with a project ??? :rolleyes:)
@Sara-S
The embroidery area will be 4" * 4", If you intend to hoop the fabric/stabiliser ( similar to using a frame for hand embroidery), the actual shape of the hoop frame determines the size of fabric that you need as a minimum but probably about 8" * 8" will be sufficient.
The other option is to hoop the stabiliser only and then 'float' the fabric to be embroidered on top ( possibly held in place with a little spray fabric glue) , then as long as the fabric is large enough to accommodate the embroidery design you're sorted.
Have fun :D
Which machine have you got @Sara-S ... I seem to have missed this ...
