I've been playing with a free pattern from Simply Sewing, issue 45
Canny little booties. I just need to buy some press studs to fasten the straps.
These are size 0-3 months. The free download also does a lace up version.
Definitely a pattern for fiddly fingered sewists.
I made them on the machine, but I think they may be easier to hand sew.

They are really cute, well done for having the patience to make them, I doubt I would these days.

Cuteset things ever! Can you reverse them? Bet you can.

Reverse them. Hmmm.
The outer material is attached to wadding and made into the shoe. The inner material is then made into a shoe and placed. The inner is loose inside, just attached at the neck. I am thinking a few stitches to keep the inner more stable would be good, and if done neatly they could be reversed. It would just mean the straps are not the same colour as the new outer.
Not that a new born cares or will keep them on longer than 2.4 seconds.

The inside out version. Would need a pattern placement if this was intended.
Do you know the hardest part of making these? Turning that tiny strap! Brought out my internal swearymary.

Oh they are gorgeous!!
I remember making shoes for Lilya's Christening - they stayed on all of 20 seconds!
I now want to make baby shoes..... ;)

The only knitting I really enjoy is baby shoes. So cute!
