Title: Best place to buy patterns
Post by: Sewbee on October 17, 2017, 09:39:45 AM
Where do you all buy your dressmaking patterns in the UK? In the USA they are fairly easy to find in sewing retail stores, often at half price or much less.

I wait until they have half price offers usually from Sew Essential, Jaycotts or sometimes Amazon.

I use Jaycotts for browsing then search around for the best price or least postage on the one(s) I want.

I buy from Jaycotts, it's only £1.50 postage, and free if over (I think) £25.

I live in London and there are a couple of places that I can actually buy patterns - John Lewis in Oxford Street and from my local fabric shop - however, I only used to buy in the sales and for this online is good enough.  I have bookmarked Sewessential (https://www.sewessential.co.uk/sewing-patterns), but Jaycotts (https://jaycotts.co.uk/pages/patterns) is another as is Sewdirect (https://sewdirect.com/index.html).  Sewdirect only carries Butterick/McCalls/Vogue and KwikSew.
