I bought these two fabrics and the pattern yesterday, I plan to make trousers from the dogstooth check and the M7714 dress View C from the cerise/petunia ponte, I haven't decided whether use the contrast option.

I don't think it needs the contrast (and certainly not the houndstooth with the cerise!)

I like the pattern and the pink fabric. It should make up nicely. Also unsure about the contrast. The pattern sketch shows black, which doesn't look good to me. Too severe.
Like @BrendaP I think it will be nicer without the contrast. You've enough going on with the strong pink.

I was considering grey rather than black but I do prefer it with no contrast.

HaHa I don't imagine for one minute that the dogtooth is intended as the contrast. It's for trousers!
I'm not a huge fan of heavy contrasts but a subtle purply in the right shade (good luck with that) might be ok.
It's a lovely versatile pattern @Silver Rose and already I've been checking it out. :loveit:

I have to admit I am not a big fan of big pieces of contrasts, probably because I didn't like them the first time round, probably around the 70's. Love that colour though and the pattern.

Personally I'm a big fan of contrast and colour or print clashing but I like one colour also. Certain garments can carry off a contrast better than others. Do whatever you want with it, wear it with pride and sod what anybody thinks :P

What a gorgeous colour for the dress. Where did you get it?

@Ohsewsimple both fabrics came from Anglican Fashion Fabrics of Norwich, they do not sell online. It is a nice day out for me, Norwich is only 40 minutes by train from Ipswich.

Not keen on contrast panels but really love your fabrics.
