This year The Darkside will be hosting 

A 6 weekly Mystery Stargazing Quiltalongathon

which will run from
January 30th to October 9th

after which you will have
A Glorious Starry Quilt to wrap yourself up in or gift for Christmas!

I am also asking Fellow Darksiders to submit a tutorial of their favourite block for

TSP's Guest BOM 2021

Please pm me if you would like to take part.

In addition we are reprising both the popular
TSP Equinox Mug Rug Swaps and TSP Accessories Swap

All these sewalongs and swaps are open to both Darksiders and Lightsiders alike ...

I hope to announce each event at least a week or two before
so you know what to expect and can gather your supplies.

Ooh with this and the events in the main group there is so much to think about! Thanks for organising. I will have a think about a block. Not sure I have a favourite as such  :thinking:

Will definitely have to take part in July I am very guilty of buying things at exhibitions that I don’t get around to making.
Nice selection for people like me who aren’t quite up to making a whole quilt.  Well done Imi

Me too ... I have at least three kits that I havent got on with yet from 2018/19  :rolleyes:

Still first I have to find them under Mt Stash !!!  :scream:

So isnt anybody interested in any of these ????  :(

I've just been through and made a list of those I'll be joining in, despite having designated 2021 the year of the UFO.  :scream: :faints: :laughing:

@Iminei I would like to join in as many as I can. It will depend hugely on workload as always! For example I thought I had 4 more days of school holidays left. Thanks to the mixed up, nightmare announcements today - they are now all gone!

Speaking for myself I'm not making any commitments until after we've finished kicking 2020 to the curb.  :angry: Out I say!

Then I want to actually get the sewing machine out of it's rolling case. Everything is a daydream until that happens.

However I am working on a very special, currently super secret project that involves needle and thread. I have a couple of people who know about it. It's neither Darkside or Lightside related.  :)

Ps: no babies around here so January is off the table anyway.

I will definitely do January and May. I don't know who the baby quilt will go to, but it never hurts to have one on hand for gifting, and I like doing them. For the mini- last year when I visited the National Quilt Museum I saw some amazing miniatures and have been wanting to give it a try. The Equinox swaps will depend on how busy my life is otherwise. June, July, and August I could come up with projects for, but hopefully we will be hip-deep in house-building and moving during that time period, so I'll just have to wait and see. Doing my new sewing ROOM will definitely take priority over new sewing projects.

I'm confident that I will have a sewing room sometime this year.  I have made a start because I have a completed Project Linus quilt top waiting for space to be able to sandwich and quilt it.

@Iminei I like the sound of the Star Gazing quilt but as I have very little stash can you give an idea of fabric quantities.
I can at least find fabric even if  I can't sew

I will be posting an intro to the quilt on 30th January with requirements for fabric and ideas for colourways etc ...

This will be a 6 weekly dodad and you'll be working on one colourway per star so plenty of time ...

The third block of the Mysteryquiltalongathon requires a FQ of each colour tone ... and only 3 colour tones required...
Light, Medium and darker

I've made the 1st of the 5 blocks required (Yes those FQ's will cover the cutting required for all five blocks) and it looks really effective!

@Sheree  ... Welcome to TSP, theres plenty of time to join in with this and the Guest Block of the month ..

Hi! Got pointed this way by Iminei as I mentioned in my intro post that I have plans to give fabric to a Project Linus chapter in my area. I've never made a whole quilt start to finish but it's in my goals!
Can't commit to anything just yet but hopefully can take part in something later in the year.
