I'm having a little rummage and I've rediscovered these two quilts I made when my kids were in primary school. Thought you might like to see them. :)

Daughter was into pink at the time and she had some say in what fabrics to use.
Sons room had the green colour on the walls so I added the blue.
Barely used. Not because they didn't like them. They just got put away and forgotten about.

Those are lovely Sandra, what size are they? Would they appreciate them now?

Thank you. :)
They're not very big, certainly no good for their beds now. They're ok for large-size lap quilts to snuggle under.

They are lovely @Sandra ! I would have to keep them - you never know, there may be a use for them in the future!

@b15erk :) Yes. :S
I'm definitely keeping them but there's no rush for me to become a grandma. I can wait a bit longer.

Beautiful @Sandra

Just proves you were always so talented

@Sandra this was one of my earliest efforts, made for my children’s cot back in the days when you were allowed quilts in cots! It is so poorly quilted - just around each block, but it’s been washed countless times in its 31 years and is still in one piece. Now just a dolly’s ‘cosy cover’ for my grandchildren to play with. Yours may well find a good use in the future! [ You are not allowed to view attachments ] [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Beautiful @Sheilago, love those colour choices.

That's lovely @Sheilago :) You've done log cabin. I didn't know anything about blocks, I just stitched little squares together and made pleasing patterns. 0_0
31 years...I don't know if mine will stand the test of time.

Wow! - what beautiful quilts!
31 Years? They look brand new - How do you wash them?
-
@William Mine are more like 15 years old and have barely seen the light of day, hence the reason they might look brand new.
Sheilago clearly knows what she's doing 0_0 as her quilt is still in good, probably frequently-washed condition, and is holding together perfectly well after 31 years. :)
Mine would be perfectly okay on a regular wash in the washing machine and dried on the line.

@William I just washed it with a normal load of washing. Back in the 1990s that would have been at 40 degrees C and a fast spin speed. It’s been fine. Actually I think exposure to bright light does more damage to quilts.

I love all of those quilts! Yes, even the log-cabin quilt, which while not perfect, is charming. I love your use of color.
