Very windy last night with the rain battering the windows. I went to bed with my mobile left switched on and a torch just in case. At least I couldn't hear the wind once I had taken out my hearing aids.

Bit calmer this morning. Couple of snow showers. Many reports of power outages outside the city - trees down which hit wires etc. Including at least one small town with no power since 6pm yesterday - probably more.

Some reports in the city of fallen trees, damaged fences etc.

Morning Afternoon

Cold and windy here and snow showers.
I am hibernating.

@Celia another vote for second opinion.

Might be worth checking if the private dentist uses an insurance plan. Mine does (currently I will admit £25 a month) so I only pay for any lab/technician work.
Mind you I am an old bird and currently have paid for more of my teeth than I have grown.

The weather improved (briefly)

Back from the shop with milk etc.
Sunny and the wind hasn't arrived here yet so a pleasant enough walk ( apart from being B Cold). One advantage to keeping my mask on when I left the shop is not breathing in cold air.

Had a think while walking back (not sure why walking is good for thinking, bus or train has the same effect) I really only think seriously about moving from here around this time of year when I start to twitch about winter and frost/ice/snow on roads and pavements. Rest of the time I am fine.

If nothing else last winter should have taught me that with reasonable stocks and alternatives plus deliveries plus not actually needing to go out now I am retired (oh those mornings of waking and nervously peering round the curtain) I don't actually have a problem.

I am up, but still in my DG. It's raining and even with the C/H doing its thing I can tell it is much colder.

Still, plenty of things to do indoors.

Im up but had a good night's sleep in my little appartment in Montpellier. I'm going house hunting today or at least talking to an agent . I'll go and see MrC once he's awake later this evening to report progress and then tomorrow I have real physical house to see via another agent.  Just hope the weather isn't too violent - we are forecast 110mms of water today so I might invest in a boat!

Stay safe all!
Hope you get good news when you go to see MrC.

Please tell me I wasn't the only one to go off to do a search about Montpellier. It looks like a fascinating city and very different to where you are now.

We seem to be having a day of sun or cloud and showers.

Aargh  I was sure I had tidied a lot of stuff last winter. Just went to look for a pattern and realised I had 3/4 boxes each with a mixture of lengths of cotton - scraps of cotton - patterns.

Now I have a mess of piles of stuff  :boohoo:

I used to watch CiN years ago. Mainly because of the special scenes some of the soaps used to do.
I gave up when I had lost interest in most of the people appearing (usually because I had never heard of them).

Morning
If I had checked in an hour ago I would have reported sunshine - we now have cloud cover and rain.
Very glad I went and got the meter readings as soon as I was dressed.

Back from town.
Now I am definitely not complaining, but it is ridiculously warm for the middle of November in NE Scotland.

@Sandra sorry, memory like a sieve, you had told us already.

Now, none of my business, but if they own the house outright (with no conditions in grandfather's will) then there is nothing to stop them deciding to sell at any time. They are both young and could decide to make any sort of changes to their lives once they are shifted out of the present situation.

@Sandra make the most of your free day.  Do something for YOU.
Seconded.

Have you had any thoughts about where/how you want to live once the house is sold?

After nearly six months from when I applied I have finally received notification from the DVLA that my driving licence renewal has been accepted and I should receive my new licence within the next few days.
Six months  :o

Was your existing licence still valid @So Chic ?

@Gernella I think it's just Visa credit cards you won't be able to use at Amazon, debit cards will still be ok.
Well that will put a stop to most of my Amazon shopping.

Morning.

I gave myself a good talking-to last night and went to bed with a clear plan of what I needed to do today.
It seems to have evaporated during the night.
