Sewing Machines / Re: In need of a service!

It could be either the foot control or the power supply, I would be inclined to try a new foot control as I think this is the most likely culprit, they are not usually repairable these days unless you are very lucky and have someone willing to break the rules!!!

@Elnnina i am sure you will love playing with your newly discovered machines, I almost exclusively use stretch fabrics and always use my overlocker for the seams, I do use cover stitch but not on everything.  Have fun

Thank you, not really although I do refer to her as a she and did call her little betty once but I am not sure it’s stuck.  I have actually used on quite a few fabrics and she has performed perfectly  :loveit:

Overlockers & Coverstitchers / Re: New overlocker tips

One of the things I love about the Babylock Gloria is although it seems fancy and has a few electronic things in essences it’s still mechanical and yes if the puffer threader does not work you can still thread it manually.

I do think the threading is something to watch out for, I don’t think I have found an Overlocker I can’t thread reasonably quickly but I have definitely found some I don’t want to thread.

@annierose I actually have the Gloria and it is as described a wonderful machine it does have a knee lift and a speed control but you do still need to use the foot control there is no start /stop switch at least not on mine.

I am posting this in in case you win the lottery

Just for the record I did not pay that for it  :faints:

Yes @Ouryve i agree, I can move my new little Bernina around easily so that’s no problem but now I have a home for both the straight stitch machine and the overlocker.

I was there too, I had to continue with the resort of my sewing room, it’s coming on well still maybe a tweak needed, then I overlooked some sheeting to make into a table cover to go on the table in there.
Really pleased to have my overlocker in a place that’s easy to get at.

Good to see you here @Silver Rose

Thank you again @So Chic but I have just found a stretch fabric he likes in my stash and as I already have a long sleeve tee shirt pattern for him that’s what he is getting.   this is the one I do like Jalie patterns

I am much happier sewing with my overlocker anyway

@Celia  I have KwikSew 3122  which I made up using the Large which is supposed to fit a 42-44 chest but it came up too big for my OH, if you would like it please PM me and I will put it in the post to you.

That’s a lovely offer but my son is between a small and a medium so I am sure it would be too large.  Thanks
