It's running very slow again and when I click on some of the sections I keep getting "we cannot open the page because the connection was lost". It happened on
The Cafe,
Competitions,
Fun with fabric.
I'm having no problems opening the site, I tried a clean-up but it hasn't helped :S.

All sections are working blindingly fast for me at the moment. I'll keep an eye on it, though… it could be one of those intermittent issues.

I've had no problems at all - it's been very good. I do get that error message when (all too frequently) there is a problem with our broadband, but presumably you haven't had it on other sites?

No, no problems on other sites and I checked the broadband service when I read your reply, it said there were no problems in this area.

I've had issues for a week or so, photos and avatars not showing etc and on initial opening something 'strange' which then reverts to normal. Forgive my lack of it tech language!

From the thread about the avatars and images:
I suspect that the webhosts have done something with the way images are being cached in order to stop all the errors and outages. We/they are working on sorting things out properly and permanently but it is not straightforward.
If you clear your cache (maybe several times), and right click on images and view them (or however your browser does this), then refresh them (maybe several times), you can sometimes sort them out - but it's a hassle and won't always work.
You will almost certainly find that it is OK most of the time, and only wrong sometimes.

I am having problems with the site today not sure if it’s just me anyone else got problems, it keeps failing to open or opens very slowly

Slow here intermittently though when it comes through I see avatars and photos. Fine on other sites I'm visiting.

I posted but it disappeared - again. That's happening a lot lately. It's also v slow.

I was reading a page this morning and when I clicked on to the next page I got a message saying 'site maintenance in progress' and nothing loaded at all. It seems fine now though.

I've had a few problems too, but thought it was the internet.
I've found it very slow to load, and I'm being told that I have already liked something when I can see I haven't...

Sorry I ve been at work all day and am not having any problems tonight.
It would be good if those who are having trouble could log the date and time these are occurring for us ...
and then maybe @Mr Twingo could get in contact with TSO and give them some hard facts.
We have not heard anything about the proposed forced migration yet but they said between June and August ???

I've been checking in and out throughout the day, and have experienced no problems with speed or pages loading. Such is the nature of IT problems :headbang:
When you experience issues with the site, together with date and time, please include the name of your internet provider. Sometimes the problem lies with the ISP, not with TSO.

I've been able to log in and read threadsand reply without problem, but twice over the last couple of days I've tried to start a new thread - about the scrappy quilt I'm making and both times when I pressed 'submit' it thought about it and then suddenly went to a blank white screen. Both times I hit the back button and tried submitting again only to get a message that I had already uploaded that message :S
However there is no thread started by me about a scrappy quilt to be found on TSP. :'(
Each attempt included photos but I know they were all well within the size limit because I export them from Photos to the desktop with a maximum dimension of 500 pixels which is well below the recommended maximum size.

Brenda, I'll look into this in more detail tomorrow. I've had a quick look at your activity, and sure enough, there are no logs of you having started such threads.

I'm at a loss as to why this happened to you; there are no error logs generated by your account. The logs do show that you posted a new thread today at 09:42:44.

Re @BrendaP @Mr Twingo what you described yesterday evening is what's happened for me The last few times I tried to update my diary thread. The last time was a few weeks ago, I've given up.on it.

This morning I was able to upload a new thread - or so I thought! It appeared on my screen as a new thread.
Then I went out - aborted outdoor art group meeting which was rained off!
Home again and I've been sewing some squares together and tehn looked on here again and the thread has disappeared. :o
It seems that the lovely @Iminei has been able to recover what I posted and uploaded it to another new thread

the Lack of Likes (see what I did there :laughing: ) was entirely due to my lack of tech know how ... Mr T has now facilitated that for me ... but I have merged the two threads into one to prevent confusion ... Its now in your Darkside Diary.

Sometimes I 'like' a post and it flashes up that I have already liked that post ??? But doesn't show ...
I have found if you refresh the page, the 'like' appears as if by magic. Try it!

I saw everybody had made 4 posts, every post had only 4 replies, all the posts were showing one capital letter mostly 'T' and 'H', the replies appeared to be on somebody else's name. It was really weird :S

Just back from another 12 hour day at work ... I was testing, so had to get up at 4.30 :faints: to be on site for 6.30 so sorry Ive missed this!
Im wondering whether TSO are trying to migrate us ... they did say from May til the end of August ... however they also said they would give us 7 days notice which I havent yet had.

This was this morning around 9:30 ish and lasted through to the afternoon. It's all ok now though :)
I was on my iPad so don't know if that had anything to do with it. I am now on my laptop and it was all ok when I came on late this afternoon.
P.S. What is this job you have, I must have missed your post? I am intrigued, I thought you were selling the lovely things you made? :)

It has been variable for me. Lightning fast one moment, then slow. I can't see a pattern, and there are no reported service issues on TSO Host.
I continue to monitor what's going on.

One of those cryptic messages that doesn't reveal much about where the problem lies. It could be our mail server, or the recipient's.

I’ve only just been able to log in after trying since mid morning.

I've had a look, but can't any information about the migration. However, there were some server issues yesterday that were resolved this morning.
I'm gong to contact TSO to try to find out more.

This 'migration' timeline has been stretched out quite far now ... Is there a way you can tell that they have migrated us?

@Iminei They said they would tell you before they started the migration, so presumably if they haven't said anything, they haven't done it yet.
