My birthday pressie from my stepsons was a couple of days away to a destination of my choice.
Well, of course, I want to go to some fabric shops but I don't know where there are a cluster of them in one place. I've seen a few peeps mention Goldhawk Road, does anybody know if it's still worth the travel to visit? Or does anywhere have a good fabric market? I wondered if Manchester would qualify as a fabric mecca?
Ideally there would be shops close to each other as I struggle to walk great distances. All advice greatly appreciated
Decided to start making up a pair of trousers which I cut out aaages ago, not really feeling in the mood but thought it would kick-start my mojo which has been absent for a while now.
Well, I only went and edge-stitched both pairs of pockets together, then stitched them onto the front of the trousers. Can't comprehend how it happened, how many pockets have I stitched into garments??
Don't know whether to laugh or cry so I've left it for now, made a cuppa and then will get ready to go out
This might not work either but what about a market stall?
I visited a nearby town last week on market day and it was lovely to have a browse in the open air with no need to wear a face mask. Spent money at the button stall too....
I'm on the lucky side too, I have a log cabin in the garden which is 5m x 3m and has everything in it: a 2m x 1m cutting table, a small table for my sewing machine, an ironing board, a stereo system, a daybed, a threads wall. Needless to say I love it to bits.
I don't think I could manage in a space of 2m x 2m  but if you can somehow make a sewing room for yourself then, yes, do it
