@Bill The Swiss zig zaggers go for silly money now, especially if they have the full set of cams. It looks as though you can drop the feed dogs on a 201, so you might get good results with one of the other types of zig zag attachments.

Lovely looking machine and I love the understated cabinet. It won’t look out of place in a modern living room and doesn’t scream sewing machine.

Hope you find a zig-zag foot soon before temptation shows you another machine.

I've made the Libby quilt from Kitchen Table Quilting and the Betty quilt is similar if either of these would count as a woven lattice.

@sewmuchmore It looks as though part of the link is being cropped when I paste it. It needs the ---[www.freemagir].pdf bit.

Try copying and pasting this into your browser without the ** at the end:
http://dl2.freemag.ir/magazine/lebas/Simply%20Crochet%20-%20Issue%2036%202015---[www.freemag.ir].pdf**

If that doesn't work, send me a DM with your email address and I'll send you the PDF (I don't think you can send attachments in a DM).

A free PDF seems to be available:

Glad that progress is being made, @Bill .

I read a description of tension being a battle between the top thread and the bobbin thread. I can't remember(or find) the exact words, but it was along the lines of if the top tension was having to be set very tight it may be due to the bobbin tension being too tight and so a high top tension was being required to "pull" the bobbin thread from the bobbin case.

@Bill I found another rabbit hole of vintage singer blog posts. There may be something useful here:
https://archaicarcane.com/tag/vsmrepair/

This particular post shows how to take out the bobbin case so you could try the tension drop test:

@Bill Does this mean the 66K is now "dual fuel" or "hybrid power"? Either way, it sounds very modern.

@Bill Are you converting the treadle to electric or fixing the other Singer?

@Bill This blog post mentions Hillman motors (and not the four wheeled variety):

I didn’t realise at first from the photos alone that Metamorphic dress was reversible.

The Elizabeth Suzann patterns remind of those from The Maker’s Atelier.

@Bill Sewing Machines Direct have a couple of “open box” Pfaffs with 8” harps and one on offer:
https://www.sewingmachines.co.uk/browse-machines/sewing-machines/ambition-1-0-4591/
https://www.sewingmachines.co.uk/browse-machines/sewing-machines/ambition-620-4454/
https://www.sewingmachines.co.uk/browse-machines/sewing-machines/ambition-630/

I think there may be some Pfaff owners on here who could comment on the ability of these machines to handle lots of layers.
