The Show Must Go On / Re: Can you see the tumbleweed?
« on: September 26, 2020, 11:25:28 AM »
It's blowing hard through here - been awake since 6 and done nothing. The online Guardian has an article about the new at home dressing - fancy dresses! I don't like the central heating high enough to wear such things.......
I just had a look over at Stitchers Guild, and they are remarking on the quiet there also...

I like the one I get a daily from TOAST, and now and again from Maker's Atelier. They have links to other interesting stuff.
What do other folk like?

Not sure why you are buying a dress that needs altering, and might not work out.....

I just use a narrow zigzag on leggings. The fabric doesn't usually fray.

In the wardrobe / Re: The Joy of wearing self sewn garments
« on: September 06, 2020, 12:24:13 PM »
@Morgan I found a way of letting go of well worn garments is to ask myself if I would pack them for a trip.
Nowadays, I donate while clothes are still ok for sale in a charity shop.
If they are only fit to be cut up for rags, then I have held onto them too long.

In the wardrobe / Re: Jacket or not
« on: September 04, 2020, 12:18:52 PM »
@Gernella , I think @Manuela posted info on how she makes her own Ch@#$l jackets.

I was so happy to meet her when she was wearing one of her own makes.

Tip- before making this type of jacket, you MUST get someone to measure you. Otherwise, the front edges will not meet very well.
If you need a full bust adjustment, then the round neck Chanel jacket might not be very flattering.
