This is on offer at £749 (I've been thinking of buying one for ages) and they'll do me a Part-Ex on the Brother Innovis 27SE I'm looking to sell.
Is this a no-brainer deal @ £629?
(I spend small amounts of money pretty easily, but when it comes to larger amounts - I panic!)
Surely, I tell myself, the hours I will no longer spend threading my old ELNA 744 will be worth the money?

Annie is it the overlocker part of the Elna that causes you the problem?
The Janome is coverstitch only, I have the 1000CPX which is simple to thread. They are, I would say, not much different from a regular sewing machine to thread, the looper is nowhere near your needles as it is with overlockers.
For me I'd buy an air threading overlocker rather than a coverstitch one with air threading or the Janome 2000CPX which is £499 in J Lewis. Maybe the dealer would part ex for that machine?

@Helen M
It's the janome overlocker air threader 2000.
However I've now decided to stick with the Elna overlocker and invest in a new Coverstitcher in due course.

That was what I was meaning Annie, that a separate coverstitch would be easier than a combined model and it's cheaper than the air threader. The 2000CPX is the latest non air threader.

@Helen M this is the new Janome overlocker not the coverstitch.

Should I even be posting a link for you? :). Might it be tempting?

@Ohsewsimple and @annieeg.
Ah the penny drops....... ;) Call it a 'senior moment' as Mr Wogan used to call them!! I wouldn't care but I have seen the air threader machine...........
If my really ancient Brother packs in I'd probably go for that one, but the Brother is so easy to thread I hang on to it.
