Title: Best rotary cutter for Lycra
Post by: Lollipop on May 29, 2019, 18:55:44 PM
I have been using a cheap cutter from the Range, albeit with decent blades, but it is driving me nuts as it keeps falling apart.
Looking for advice on the best to buy for using with lycra, stretch mesh and stiff tutu net please. Also a source for good quality blades as I seem to be going through one a fortnight!

Thanks all. :D

After trying different brands I now only pay for prym .. they last the longest for me so I buy bulk to reduce costs and I use the 'old' one for the net... for info I have a large self healing cutting mat and only cut using a rotary

I've always used Olfa.  I don't know if they're the best but I haven't noticed any difference in how they cut for various fabrics and a majority of my stuff is made from rayon/lycra or cotton/lycra.

Is lycra supposed to be hard on the blades?

I have heard that it is @mudcat . It does blunt sewing needles so maybe...
Thanks both. I have ordered a mid range Olfa and some cheapish blades from Amazon.
