If I was making an unlined one (I probably wouldn't!) I'd be inclined to at least bind the seams so they didn't look a mess. Thats a point ... Did the GBSB line their jackets???? I imagine with the ridiculous time constraint they wuldnt havetime to both make the fabric, layer it, quilt it, make the jacket, line it and bind the outside edges too ... So I bet the insides look a right mess

I plan to overlock the seams as I want it to be an easy lightweight summer jacket.

I have two treadles, one at the pub and one here. Sadly both need new belts but one day....... (pre apocalypse hopefully!!  )

I bought a pack of 2 leather belts via Amazon.
Sadly, I can’t buy direct from U.K. shops as few will post to Ireland now and they don’t want the faff of completing customs paperwork.

I wasn’t really expecting anyone to be particularly interested in my acquisition so I’m chuffed that several of you have commented on my thread and given me further guidance and made me feel that buying it wasn’t a silly decision.

I’ve also received an incredibly thoughtful email from one TSP-er with lots of valuable tips and advice and I’m especially humbled given how otherwise occupied they are with stuff at the moment. 

I’ll keep you all posted on my progress.

I have a couple of soft covers on my son’s bed that lose the Single bed size duvet inside them regularly. I just safety pin the duvet into the corners of the cover to keep it in place.

I liked the look of that book @Celia  and @Acorn but when I looked closely it's waaayyy beyond my sewing capabilities

Having now finished sewn my first quilt (another is in the early stages of construction), there’s a huge amount of planning, measuring and general faffing with a quilt and I think a basic fabric bag is actually a much easier and quicker project.

Debbie Shore has some great books and YouTube tutorials for newbie bag makers.

You could always start with a basic grocery type shopping tote, if you fancied giving it a try?
