A Good Yarn / Re: Crochet Hooks
« on: Today at 13:01:32 »
@Acorn I’ve been using these

I bought a few of these last year. I like that they’re colour coded so easy to find the right one.
I have arthritis in my hands and find these are quite comfy.  The steel ones tend to hurt after a while.
I have a few bamboo ones but not keen on those although I do like bamboo knitting needles.

No frost today.  Been for a walk round the village.  Just after we got back it poured with rain.
Waiting for Morrisons delivery.  I hate dealing with the shopping  :(

Had to call the doctors today as I need to see if I can get an inhaler for when I visit my DS.  Luckily I   haven’t needed them for years.  I will get a phone call on Friday evidently.

Nothing interesting happening today.  Maybe a bit of sewing.  DH at Rock Choir tonight so I have control of the remote!   :thumb:

This Wordle, who does the second line and misses out the one letter that was right, a plonker.  I've left, I could be there some time

Me @Gernella !   Actually twice!

Happy birthday to you both.  Hope you’re doing something nice today.   :VV: :birthday:

Sewing Machines / Re: Free arm machine help please

How much length are you looking for?   Just wondering if what you’re after is a possibility in an ordinary machine because of the bobbin?

Definitely keep that @Celia.  I agree with @Acorn about having storage at a sensible height.
I’m sick of trying to get things out of cupboards in my kitchen! :(

I managed it in 5 but took a while as I kept thinking that no words could be made with what I had left!

Kennet Linsell have a clearance page too ... but HOW much ???? :faints:

But they are nice @Iminei.   :)   They have some weight behind them so ideal for draping, designing and pinning into.  You can’t do that so well with a flimsy one.

£500 is a lot for a machine  that old.  I’d leave it alone.

Very frosty this morning including the pavements and roads.  Glad we don’t have to go out.
Sun made an appearance but decided it had had enough.

I have a Morrisons order to sort out.  Some washing has been done but I didn’t feel like going outside to hang it out.  There’s no wind so won’t dry today anyway.

Sewing room later i expect

@twopence hope your move goes well.  Where are you off to?

These are fairly old machines @annieeg.  Where have you seen one?

Woven/non stretchy fabrics are much easier to use up; bunting, small bags and pouches, oven gloves, appliqué, cards and any arty uses and of course medium weight woven cottons go into the P&Q stash.

If you have knits why not interface them so they become stable pieces and could then be used with wovens?

@Greybird ooh nice.

@Diane lovely photos.  It’s so nice down here today isn’t it?
We’ve been for a walk by the water at Warsash this morning.  Managed to find a seat to sit on too.  Took our binoculars but they got left in the car!  Of course there were two or three birds we couldn’t see properly.  Next time we go it’ll probably be just boring seagulls!

Veggie chilli made for tonight.  Need to grate a block of cheese in the Magimix later so we have some to go with it.

This afternoon I will attempt to sort out this jumper/cardigan.  The front bands need adjusting as does the neckline I think.   Nut yesterday I just threw everything on the floor when I heard DH fall down the stairs.  So I shall go and pick stuff up and carry on.

Have a good day all.

@Diane and @Cazlyn he seems ok.  Bit stiff and caught his back.  We'll see later if he's black and blue.

Well didn’t get long in my sewing room.  DH slipped on some magazines he’d put on the stairs and tumbled down a few steps.  He’s ok but was a bit shook up.

@Bill try using it in the central position.  Be careful using it on the left or right, you could break the needle.

@Diane sorry to hear you’re feeling down.  I agree that getting out for a walk makes you feel better.
Getting to the sea always lifts my mood.

Well yesterday was a lousy birthday for DH.  Got down to the fish and chip shop and there were so many people waiting outside we stayed in the  car for a while.  Whole families were turning up to wait together.    In the end we have it a miss, drove to the car park, drank our tea then came home.  Ordered fish and chips from our local place for the evening.

Couldn’t get to sleep till late, woke when the heating came on as it makes such a noise.  So feel dozy now.  Might get in my sewing room later if I can be bothered.
