I have that jeans book and the pictures in it are excellent.

Or a jersey needle. My janome prefers jersey needles, pfaff prefers stretch. Or it might be the other way round. Skipped stitches if I get it wrong so I soon find out.

And, yes, stitch all of the width of the stitch through both layers for nice even stitches. To trim, fold the hem right back on itself, right sides together, so only the surplus that you want to trim off is poking up.

On Jane I use either wht your manual describes as multiple zigzag, stitch 8 or for daytime t-shirts, I like the effect of your stitch 20, which mimics a coverstitch quite nicely.

No. Sewing for me, today. Just back from a trip out with Eldest and not even had lunch, yet.

Turned out to be for very good reason. Thankfully, all turned out better than feared.

Anyhow, I've just had an email from Closet Core saying that Deer and Doe are now under their umbrella, after approaching them in the search for a buyer. There's a blog post about it but I can't get into it, at the moment.

Edit - seems my email is the problem https://blog.deer-and-doe.com/18942-a-new-era-deer-and-doe-is-joining-the-closet-core-patterns-family/

I remember decorating the boys' room in early May, years ago, with sleet and snow hitting the window.

In fits and starts, though the day, I've added buttonholes and buttons to my cushion backs and basted them to the fronts. Just (haha) the binding to do, now.

I'm imagining to results if Youngest got his hands on that lot  :scream:

I can't do that on my phone, @Sheilago. It takes over the whole page. I might have to fish my laptop out, later.

I'd love to see them, @Sara-S  but, unfortunately, I'm not on Facebook and it won't let me look without a login.

Forecast a high of 8C here, tomorrow so nope! I don't do a full switchover, anyhow.

Masking tape is a good substitute for sewing alongside.

You won't be disappointed by the water soluble pens. This is the medium tip that I'm using right now. I did the closer together stitching lines yesterday and dabbed the guidelines off with a wet paper towel. I shall do the same with these ones when I have finished this section.

I'm quilting my cushion fronts. As IANAQ, it's all very experimental and may look terrible. Finding inspiration and guidance online has been surprisingly challenging because there isn't much between absolute beginner at everything sewing machine related and elaborate fmq and/or ruler work.

@Bjay   did you say your other eye is to be zapped too? Hopefully your brain will cope better when your eyes match. I could have had a toric lens but that would have left my eyes unbalanced indefinitely. I can only just persuade them to work together as it is!

Pfanny is set up with one of my new threads, anyhow. It's a cooler grey than I was using and looks berrer against the chambray. I'm tempted to quilt one cushion with Pfanny and the other with Jane, though, just to compare the IDT vs walking foot.
