A BBC local radio station is attempting to crochet its way into the history books by breaking a new world record.
BBC Radio Derby is seeking volunteers to try to break a Guinness World Record for the most people simultaneously crocheting.
The station said it needed 605 people to take part if they were to break the current record.
That was achieved by The Singleton Crafters in New South Wales, Australia on 30 April 2017.

Seeing annie's post on the dress design kit for sale, reminded me that I have this 'Lutterloh - The Golden Rule Complete Kit'.  I bought it a couple of years ago and never used it. It's still all packed up in the box it came in and unused.

Just wondering if anyone may be interested in it?  Please let me know and I can send sort out some pictures of it.

Advance notice.

I'm thinking of selling my Janome Coverpro 2000 cpx. I bought it in May 2017 and have used it twice to alter a top for a friend.  I bought from SM direct.  I didn't use it for some time at first and it just lay unpacked in the box. It works perfectly
well and is in perfect condition. I also bought the following accessories from Jaycotts to go with it.
1x Cover Pro Needles (Pack of 5) - 14 / 90 for £3.50 each
1x Cover Pro Needles (Pack of 5) - 12 / 80 for £3.50 each
1x Clear View Foot | Cover Pro - Clear View Foot for £24.50 each
Subtotal: £31.50 GBP
Shipping: £0.00 GBP
Total: £31.50 GBP

So would include those as well. I have all the packaging it came in including the box. Just wondered if anyone may be interested although I wouldn't be able to get it packed up and sent until the end of next week.

I haven't thought of a price either, as I am not sure what it is worth. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks.

Vintage Machines / Singer Featherweight 221.
« on: June 18, 2019, 18:51:25 PM »
I'm the very happy owner of a vintage Singer Featherweight 221. I know nothing about them but I saw this very small sewing machine in the window of a local charity shop as I was on my way to the shops yesterday. I thought it was a toy machine at first (never having seen a 221 in the flesh (so to speak) before. I fell in love with it but decided I needed to go home first to see what machine it was. The machine in the window had a note that said it needed a new power plug? I didn't think much of it at the time, as I thought it would be easy enough to get one. This morning, I rang the shop to see if it was still for sale, so I bought it. It has a case and some spare needles. Some Singer oil and all the feet that came with it. The case totally in tact, smelt a little bit musty but the machine is mostly in a great condition. I love this machine already and I cant even plug her in yet. I looked at the site that has been recommended to other people before. But Helen Howes husband has retired now (it says on her site) so they no longer deal with anything electrical etc.

I am totally at loss what should go on the end to plug into the electric. The pedal is there with the cable but the lady in the charity shop, in her wisdom, has chopped off the end of the plug -<

Please can anyone help me regarding this? I have been looking at videos etc and also wonder if it is going to be within my capabilities to oil it and do all the things that may need to be done to it before using the machine? It is a 1949 model :)
Or is there anywhere, someone can recommend that can service the machine for me?

Thank you.  :)
