Could we have a 'tears of laughter' emoji. I use this (https://i.imgur.com/S39XZCT.png), which is a mobile emoji but perhaps there is a forum equivalent.
-
@Acorn ????
I also suggest for every new ... wonderful and wanted .... emoji we adopt another less used and less wonderful one gets binned ????
-
I will see what I can find - that one is just a bit too small, and if I make it bigger it will get fuzzy, but there must be other similar ones.
-
How's this one? [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
-
@Acorn, the one I use was scaled down from a much bigger image to about the same size as the forum text, but making it bigger works. I also agree with @Iminei that there needs to be a cull.
-
Now to me, that looks like someone crying, not laughing. Is there not one that's more laughing, less crying?
-
Have you never cried with laughter. In any event the crying emojis are (https://i.imgur.com/U6CXg0n.png) and (https://i.imgur.com/C7bQjKb.png)
-
I'll have another look later, see if we can get a consensus from a few of them. There is one that rolls around a bit somewhere, that might be good.
Interestingly, I have removed quite a few emojis, and only one person noticed one of them once.
-
I noticed that the pins had gone but only because I use them as stars and sunshine! :S
I would like a rolling around one please. Funny that I use fainting and rolling around laughing but never zen. We could start profiling people! :ninja:
-
I think I`m the only person in the world who doesn`t "get" emojis so I should probably keep quiet
(I have one friend who often uses them rather than any words in her messages and I haven`t got a clue what she is trying to say!)
-
@UttaRetch I can honestly say that I have never cried with laughter. :| I didn't think it was really possible but bow to better knowledge :D
-
I often cry when I'm laughing! I laugh a lot.
-
It takes something very funny, but yes, I have cried with laughter many a time.
I'd noticed the pins and the roll of fabric had gone.
Just wondering if =8 :toast: would describe me going in the hot tub?
-
I would cull :thread: :gin: =8 :trousers: and :wool: I haven't seen anyone use either of the sewing machines either.
-
  :thread: =8 :trousers: >:) :wool: :\ I've never used any of these. @BrendaP regularly uses the sewing machines. :)
-
Where do old emojis go when noone wants them? Is there an emoji rehoming centre?
-
Don't tell anyone, but they remain fully functional, they just aren't allowed on the display above the posting box. If you know the bit of code they use you can still put them into posts. :pin: ;)
-
If you know/remember what the appropriate word is you can still use the old emojies by putting a colon before and after that word.
I still add to my :fabric: stash
What I like about the TSP emojies is that hovering the mouse over one of them tells ou what it is supposed to mean. On other sites it's often guesswork.
-
How about this one for larfter
(https://yoursmiles.org/msmile/fun/m0168.gif)
-
OOooo I like that one @Bjay.
-
:vintage: I use this one a lot :)
-
Gosh I never use those things....but then I don't do 'cute' stuff - even in cards.
-
@UttaRetch I can honestly say that I have never cried with laughter. :| I didn't think it was really possible but bow to better knowledge :D
oh dear @Lowena. My friends are all missing what used to be monthly ‘girls’ nights when one of the friends regularly had the rest of us crying with laughter! We always thought she should have been on the stage - she can see the humour in almost all situations. We always feel the better for a really good laugh. :D
-
@UttaRetch I can honestly say that I have never cried with laughter. :| I didn't think it was really possible but bow to better knowledge :D
Oh dear. Then you must practice, start soon
-
Oh I've cried with laughter so many times, most often with my sister as we share a weird sense of humour our collective kids just roll their eyes  and comfort each other for having such weird mums 0_0
-
I'm not very emotional and have rarely laughed or cried. I bottle things up.......hence the anxiety medication
-
I am quiety chuffed to say that when we saw our old neighbours yesterday the husband said "Do you know what I`ve missed about you? Your laugh"
-
So we have:
(https://yoursmiles.org/msmile/fun/m0168.gif) who is great but probably a bit small compared to our others;
I may be able to embiggen the second one.
Any other suggestions?
-
I like the midden one ... which seems around the same size as our happy dancing one ...
-
I like the second one very much and there is no confusion with crying for those who find emojis difficult to interpret.
-
(https://yoursmiles.org/msmile/fun/m0168.gif)
I think you're right @Im!
-
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ] A polite way of swearing!
-
Definitely the second one, not the crying one.
-
Obviously from the same family @Acorn ... Are there any more ??
-
Definitely siblings! They're from this site (https://yoursmiles.org/) which is a great resource, but a real slog to look through.
-
Is it possible to organise them into some kind of order? It always takes me ages to find the smiley face.
So the small ‘smiley’ faces...animals...sewing...birthday related...
I think they’re are too many similar emojis that could easily be culled down to about 3.
>< :[ :P -< :o :S :\ >:)
-
I see what you mean ... Yuk!
If they made it easier they could market it. Peeps would be happy to pay a fiver for a set of decent smilies without the slog! Surely Shirley?
-
:S How can cunning, erm, undecided, shocked, what?! and really?! be taken down to three?!?!?!? :o
I love the second one and even when there's nothing funny it makes me smile. He's having such a good time!
-
I think :[ and :\ are very similar,
as are >< and -<
And I'm not sure anyone uses :S
I'd quite like to replace :P with [ You are not allowed to view attachments ] but he would need to be made bigger, I think.
And I do agree about the ordering. It always takes me ages to find :) I will tidy them up at some point (when there will be an outcry because nobody can find their favourites any more...)
-

Got the wrong one there. I meant [ You are not allowed to view attachments ] as the replacement. Only bigger.
-
Oh crikey. I use :S all the time. ← I <3 him.
-
Heh - seeing him in a post he does look a lot more familiar. Fear not, he is safe.
-
Got the wrong one there. I meant as the replacement. Only bigger.
Personally dont like that one but I dont like the whole action ... its rude ...
Love :S :o

I would like to see uniformity in the icons, but realise this may be a tall order. Just saying.
-
We tried very hard ro find a set that had everything we wanted, but no such thing exists. I do what I can to edit them and make them similar in size and colour, but the possibilities are limited. Dealing with such small images, even changing the size by one or two pixels tends to make them fuzzy.
-
@Acorn: I know nothing about the backend processes of the forum, but the icons I use start off by measuring 256x256 which I put through Lunapic and scale to 25x25. (https://i.imgur.com/iCi4aXW.png)

Yes this! Several of the new larger ones lack clarity. They seem to have been enlarged and are therefore a bit pixelated around the edges and blurry. Absolutely wigs me out.
These are creepy:   :meditation: :|
I use these: :meow: >< ;) :S . I used the wheel of pins quite often but you ditched it. When I saw that, well :scream: was my reaction.
I rather prefer the new smaller ones to the new larger ones. They don't mess with the text as much.
BTW, who's been messing with the reply code? Suddenly I have to scroll to the bottom of a page if I wish to reply. By the time I get there I no longer remember who I wanted to reply to or what I wanted to say.
-
I use :S all the time
-
:pin: 'pin' with colons at each end.
And nobody has changed the reply code - the button is there at the top and bottom of every page, as always, or you can quote directly from any post to get the reply box up.
-
There is this one (https://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/rulez/t2042.gif)which I don't find as creepy as
-
I have never, ever used any of them. It simply doesn't occur to me. They are just there twitching away and don't seem to have anything to do with me! I will just say though, that that Snoopy one drives me potty when it's used - I can't seem to concentrate on what's been written.
-
@Bjay @Acorn ... I agree with that thumbs up emoji and it fits better size wise too.
-
I've changed the thumbs up one, which is why half the above posts don't make any sense any more.
-
-
I like the new thumbs up - the other one looked like a carrot!
-
... that Snoopy one drives me potty when it's used - I can't seem to concentrate on what's been written.
I tend to avoid the moving ones as they can be very distracting but I have such fondness for Snoopy that I've used him once and can't help but smile every time those ears slap on the ground. Sorry Greybird!

Someone asked for weather emoticons - some suggestions
