As mentioned yesterday, I`m having a cull of my old needles. I reckon some actually came from my Grandmother!
Anyway, amongst them I found this and wondered what it would be used for. It`s got 2 eyes, is about 2 1/2 inches long and has a rounded point (not sharp)

Gosh- I have enough problems sewing with one colour!
I think this particularl needle must have been for quite coarse fabric - it is rather chunky. I wonder why the one eye is so much bigger than the other.

I've got a couple of those, not sure what I thought they were for...

I've only used it for threading elastic. Flat through the big hole, round elastic in the top hole.

The video of the embroidery showed a sharp pointed needle. @sewingj 's needle is very blunt. It's a type of bodkin; the large eye is big enough to thread narrowish elastic or ribbon through.
