OH has got an old futon, quite comfortable as a sofa and a bed, but with a water stain on it from when a velux window was left open in the rain.
In the new house it will probably go in the sewing room as extra guest sleeping.
I will make a removable cover for it.
Has anyone done that and have you any tips?
I have an unused duvet cover I thought I could adapt.
-
Is the duvet cover fabric sturdy enough? or do you need to use something a little bit heavier?
-
Yeah, maybe I do need something heavier.

This sounds like a job for YouTube!
There's probably at least a dozen people somewhere in the world that have filmed themselves doing this. (I haven't looked yet.) Great source for both what to do and what not to do.
I've learned how to change headlights on my car, put the screens in my sister's new windows, why my Mom's faucet was leaking and had to be replaced - not repaired, and exactly how I will approach repainting my Singer 15-88, (as soon as I know my BIL will be available to bail me out on the reassembly!)
I would definitely check YouTube.

Didn't Manuela make a futon cover and go into details with pictures of what she was doing, perhaps go looking for this on TSP if it is still available.

I've not managed to find any in progress pictures from Manuela, but did find two posts

this shows it finished

and this is just a comment on the daily thread before where its mentioned as a 'removable cover with zipper'.
