You're very talented and experienced @Celia I'm sure they would not be beyond you.
Sometimes I wish I didn't know exactly what I have ( no kits :( ) and I might get a nice surprise :D
I love the snowscene and the bears and will look forward to seeing the finished articles  <3

Wheres difficult ... Applique yes? gets some heat n bond (Lite) and away you go ...

Easius Peasius .. Looking forward to seeing the finished article ...

Looooving the snow scene ... Maybe a layer of organza over some of the snow would make it sparkle a lil??? (just remember to cover the scene with a clean tea towel/calico/cloth/sheet of paper before ironing the organza down to avoid melting it)

@Iminei not appliqué but this

Don’t really know where to start so I think it might just go back into hibernation for about 30 years. It’s dated 1997……
Will start with the Christmas bears or maybe even the card

@Lowena my excuse is I have been sewing for a lot longer than you and I have no self control when I go to exhibitions

@Celia Break it down into sections and it isn't too bad......
It just looks fiddly rather than difficult.  :P

Oh Wow!!!!

Templates or FPP ??? Just noticed the Iron on templates included bit on the cover ...

So really its the same as My gemstone patterns!
I would suggest you try something simpler to find how you get on with the technique as I and Helen did with the practice template for a simple Gem from MJ Kinmans website.

What we found was it was the prep that took the time, the actual assembly was quite quick and straightforward.

I'm sure it could be done as applique... it is lovely.

Mmmmm I think you are right @Iminei i will try something simpler first but I might take @Diane  advise and put it back in the draw, well cupboard, I have too many for a draw

As Applique it would be a doddle! Which is why I thought it was.

It's a variation on FPP. She still has a website (https://www.englanddesign.com/order/small-landscapes-series/snow-scene-pattern)! There's a free sample block. I linked to the page for this scene. Our FPP experts can look and advise as to level of difficulty.

That link will be really helpful ... theres a HELPFUL TIPS (https://www.englanddesign.com/img/products/features/SnowSceneHelpfulInfo.pdf?t=20170427201133915) Linky too especially for the snow scene.

The rest of her landscapes are pretty impressive too!!

I think @Celia  if you do some practice runs first and then go slow and steady that you could pull this off brilliantly ... or   use the fabric to applique it!

Wow
Thank you for the links to the website. I don’t even remember buying this kit I have no idea where I got it but I am sure I didn’t realise how it was done. I love the fact that I have the fabric for it too.

I think I will put this on hold until after Christmas but I am looking to find a small project to practise on and see if I like it. Right now I am sure I would mess it up, my brain is a bit disorganised at the moment

You are welcome @Celia . I  wonder where you got it too. The prices are in USD. Great that you have the fabric as it looks like she no longer markets that.

@Celia, I would put this aside until January and make it a long term project. Like others have said, I would read all her information and do a free block  (https://englanddesign.com/free-picture-piecing-patterns)she has up using what fabrics you have on hand. I do like the idea of what this designer is doing and will be doing one of the free blocks to see if I want to get one of her kits.

I have a picture to do also and have to trace all the pieces onto Steam A Seam and then iron to the fabric and layer it on to make a horse's head. Less sewing and more ironing. I question why I bought it other than it is one DD loved, a dealer did a sample, and I bought it.

@Renegade Sewist i was not sure if I had bought it in the USA if so it was about 25 years ago, I have been there since but didn’t get to hobby shop if you know what I mean.

Otherwise it was probably at The knitting and Stitching show in London as I have been there every year except this year for more years than I care to remember.

To be fair, what i see as 'difficult' is more a question of patience and keeping on going...

Should be beautiful when done!
