If we go down past CalicoLaine shall I call in and see how much it is per metre? Wonder if they would just post you a metre or whatever you need, maybe worth a phone call.

A bit of a 'do' / Re: Impossible wedding dress alteration
« on: December 01, 2021, 19:14:46 PM »
If the motifs had to be taken off and they are beaded the chances are that all the beads will come off so not only would the motifs have to be restitched but rebeaded as well. That is a LOT of work.
Not an easy dress to alter, my thought was "What would Mrs Mole do?"

Yes it is Linda that I knew - haven't seen her for 11 years as that is when I retired.
Seemingly, reading the reviews, they are one of the few places that sells PUL. If you want any details try contacting her, she was always very friendly and easy to chat to.

I haven't used them but I know that they are based in an industrial unit in Birkenhead. The girl who owns it is an ex colleague, she is/was a physio. I have looked at the fabrics but never ordered as there has never been anything I needed, but some nice looking stuff.

Made with love by grandma/nana, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks, your grandchildren are all that matter and they will love them.

Overlockers & Coverstitchers / Re: Overlocker?
« on: November 09, 2021, 13:33:08 PM »
I had the Brother 1034D for many years, I decided I wanted an upgrade and now have a Babylock Imagine 2. I gave the Brother to DDiL and she uses it regularly still and it is at least 20 years old. It also uses ordinary machine needles. The only "oddity" if you like is that it has to be threaded in sequence though how it knows if it isn't I'm not sure but it can play up if you don't - as I found out several times.
I wouldn't be without an overlocker now although for years I used the machine zigzag stitch or the overlocker type stitch - neither is as good as the real thing.
