Today... One thread per day / Re: Saturday 4th December
« on: Today at 11:46:04 »
I do the same as @Bill .  Cut small lengths of sellotape and stick them to the table edge.  Much quicker and less annoying that way - had a dispenser years ago but have no idea what happened to it.

Sunny here at the moment.  I'm just about to slurp some soup and then I have to wait a while before doing a LFT - we're off to the other side of the country later for DH's sister's birthday do. I have an ensemble rehearsal tomorrow when a 91 year old visitor will be present so it's only polite to make sure I'm not harbouring anything nasty for her.  So it will be a crazy dash back home early in the morning, then I have to whip up some edibles to take with me to that.  Sigh.  So much for my nice quiet weekend.

On the plus side, I've just laid out the dress pattern I'd like to make for Christmas out on the fabric.  Just got to cut and sew now. Ha!  Goodness knows when that will get done  :faints:

Happy Saturday all xx

That's brilliant news @Sara-S   !

Hi all, it's been a couple of days since I posted I think.  Not much going on, just seasonal stuff.  It's cold, grey and wet here at the moment.  Not as icy as it has been though; at least I could walk on the pavements this morning without panicking that I was going to slip over.

So I've been out this morning, walked into town with my friend,  picked up some click and collect parcels and then drove to the other side of town to pick up some more.  Am trying not to get annoyed with sister in law whose 70th birthday is next week.  She decided she would have a family get together to celebrate and has now forgotten to give us any details of when/where it's being held.  As it's over 150 miles away and we have plans for the weekend I'm not thrilled to discover it's a family meal somewhere tomorrow night.  DH is anxious to go (she lost her husband at the beginning of the year so he feels we should support her) and I really don't mind except that he's now saying we can only stay for an hour or so before finding and driving to a B&B somewhere on the way home so that he can leave at the crack of dawn on Sunday to play in a tennis match an hour's drive from here at 11.00 a.m.  Me, cross?

Hey ho.  Need to see if I have any glad rags I can stretch round my post lockdown bod.  Hooray.

Have a fun afternoon all.  Stay warm and dry.  I'm staying in.

Hello @kowgiirl.up  and welcome!   :toast:

@Pearl SG is another US sewing site - Stitcher's Guild.  Think they've been having some site problems lately.  I used to read and post on there but not any more.

Looks good to me too!  And I love the colour.  I bet it will be a really useful basic jacket.

I agree, @Bumblebuncher   my stats are similar to yours.  No way would I struggle into an all in one.  And the loo issue is a major one for me, I'm shuddering at the thought of dashing into a public convenience and having to completely undress.  I did wear a 'flying suit' (as it was called back in the day) way back in the early 1980s, can't remember where I bought it but I loved it on me then.  But that was then, and now is now, and I'm older, wiser and with a considerably weaker bladder

That looks lovely, @Starryfish  !  I love the colours.  I wish I could wear that style of dress, it looks so comfy but as I am so well endowed on top I would just look 20 months' pregnant in one.

I would say you have the skills to sew your zip whichever way you prefer.  I'm currently wearing a pair of M&S jeans which zip up the 'wrong' way i.e the fly is on the right hand side.  Drives me potty when I'm used to all my other pairs zipping up the other way.  Another incentive to lose that corona-stone which seems to have crept up onto my hips

Oh they are adorable @CraftyIrish  !  I would have liked to learn to crochet once upon a time but my granny who was a fantastic crocheter (is that a word?)  gave up trying to teach me once she realised I was left handed .....  I can manage a chain but that's it.  Oh well.
