Patterns Discussion / Re: Burda 02-19/105 Trench coat
« on: May 19, 2021, 13:12:26 PM »
I just checked the Russian Burda site and the fabric requirements are

    Main Fabric 4,00–4,00–4,05–4,05–4,10 m @ 140 cm wide and lining 2,60–2,60–2,60–2,65–2,65 m @ 140 см wide

I don't think that's what you were hoping for.

I think many of us Lightsiders can learn plenty from you Darksiders about applying binding neatly around curves. I am really envious of those skills.

All your outfits look really great.  Great idea to recycle underwear. Its a good weight for dolls and you have colour coordinated fabrics :loveit:
Have a look at pixiefaire.com for patterns - she has a wide range of designers and there are several freebie patterns available on the site.  If you sign up for the newletter you can also get a free pattern every Friday.

The Haberdashery / Re: Knitting row counter
« on: April 10, 2021, 07:58:48 AM »
I use these little digitial counters.  I wear mine on the index finger of my left hand and press the button with my thumb at the end of each row.  I can do this without having to put down the empty needle which is helpful.  The strap is adjustable though if you have very slim fingers you might need to wear it on your thumb.

@toileandtrouble April has green eyes and came with a pair of glasses that really highlighted them.  I feel a bit guilty because I planned and started a couple more outfits for her and then developed lockdown lethargy and never finished them. I have a couple more UFOs for me to sort and then I'll get back to them.  Honest  0_0

A Good Yarn / Re: More socks

Two more pairs.  The pink ones are plain knit and the grey are ribbed.  The pink ones have been worn and washed a few times so look a little wrinkled.

Really pretty socks.  That yarn works up beautifully.

Patterns Discussion / Re: Early Simplicity Spring patterns
« on: February 06, 2021, 14:55:59 PM »
Simplicity seems to have gone down the Indie pattern route of only one garment per item.  I have never really used envelope patterns because I grew up with Burda magazines but I'm sure they used to have either several different garments per pattern or several very different variations  of one type of garment.  I can't imagine why anyone would buy S9229 for nearly $15.00 - its a knit T-shirt with at most 4 pattern pieces.   :faints:

Great socks @Diane The green ones are far too nice to be relegated to bed socks.  I love the way the stripes work out with the King Cole ZigZag.  I must try that yarn next.  Can't offer any advice about the heel stitch pick up except that I find I space them out too much at the start and need to cram into the final few slipped stitches and the start of the instep.

Patterns Discussion / Re: Help! Looking for a boys Blazer Pattern
« on: January 27, 2021, 16:31:26 PM »
I know you said you prefer not to trace but if you are going to trace a Big4 pattern any way have you considered Ottobre Kids Magazine.  Back issues cost about the same as an envelope pattern but as a bonus you get alot of other children's patterns as well.  The 06/2014 and 06/2018 issues both have boys blazer patterns.  You can take a look HERE

They are great @Stitches.  I love the colours.  Knitting socks is oddly addictive isn't it?

Hi @Starryfish What size is the Vogue 8804 jacket pattern - if it is the 14 -22 size I would be interested if no-one else has beaten me to it.

Regards
