@Iminei Sounds as though you had a good time at the repair cafe. Would there be anyone there who could help set up your new laptop?

Could you make fabric rouleau tubes and use those instead of cord?

Alterations Advice Please / Re: PJ Problemo

@Iminei Is the size on the label with the washing instructions?

Before you take them back, measure them and then take a tape measure with you so you can check that the next pair are smaller.

@Diane Patterntrace sells A4 FPP paper at £11.90 for 100 sheets which might be another option if you can't find cheap tracing paper.

Hi, I'm new... / Re: Hello Everyone

Welcome to TSP, @Ian

The "darkside" comes from instructions when pressing seams on patchwork blocks. Seams can be pressed open or to the side; if pressing to the side, it is usually advised to press towards the darker fabric so that it won't show through lighter fabric. This is often described as "pressing to the darkside".

(There may be an alternative explanation that involves the original administrators of TSP being fans of Star Wars.)

@Diane There is an ex demo V2 on the Hobkirk website if i) you would consider it and ii) assuming it is still available.

 Count me in, too.

@Iminei Would the “snowflake triangles grey” from this eBay listing be a near enough substitute?

Patterns Discussion / Re: In search of jacket pattern

Have you looked at the costume/historical patterns to see if there is something you could adapt? The jacket reminds me of a Victorian dress bodice or a jacket from the Regency era.

@Iminei I have a couple of Scandi remnants, one of which I think is the same as one in the cushion. Measurements stop short of the irregular cut ends.

Fun with Fabric / Re: Looking for quilted coat lining
« on: October 11, 2021, 16:07:44 PM »
@sewmuchmore The etsy seller (eufabrics) that @Ploshkin found has their own website which I had initially discounted in searches as the name/URL suggested it was not UK based.

However, looking at the website, it appears they are in Birmingham and they have several quilted fabrics.

@Silverlake Do you “do” Facebook? If so, another option might be to join the “Singer Featherweights UK” group and sell it via that. The administrator of the group is often interested in buying machines to do up and sell, but yours might be in too good condition for him, but I think there would be interest from other members.

Edit: sorry, just read that you’re not on Facebook, so this won’t be an option.

I had the email from WeaverDee - a few half price Vogue and McCall patterns somehow found their way into my basket.

@annieeg I think this a link to a PDF of the manual from which the photo@Celia posted seems to be taken. I think the details are on page 29.
