@Starryfish   This is a government move.  I wonder if they want to check if they are actually being used?

@Bumblebuncher  Do you use ordinary thread or woolly nylon in the loopers?  The nylon gives a softer seam.

It look almost as if the lining is too tight on the side that sits out.  The pattern matches, so it should lie flat.

Finished the  coat  ( with the shortened facing!). It is pretty cute.  Now going to make another with a perfect fabric I found as the lining.  Must make a list of points to send on feedback too.
Just bought a Kwiksew pattern for 18" dolls.  That is what it says on the back, near the fabric requirements. On the front, it says 14" doll clothes. No mention of size on the pattern paper.  The pieces look right for 18" but I have sent an email to the supplier so they can report it back..

@Acorn  I just altered a Cotton traders ' button neck sweatshirt'  to a zip up front for someone!  I have saved the placket to see how they constructed it.

@Ann Thank you, I will put it in the review. I have been in touch with the 'support' team, but they don't seem to understand what I am saying.  There are a couple of other things I think ought to be changed but that is the worst.

When you are test sewing, do you get to try the 'final' version, or is that compiled from the testers comments?
I have just bought a pattern and I cannot make the pieces line up as they should.  I'm amazed no-one else has reported it, so I am thinking  a mistake got in after the testing stage.

A Good Yarn / Re: Knitting For The Dolls

@Ann Thanks for the link. I was going to puzzle out the pattern from the picture, but have just bought the pattern - much easier, and I prefer to reward the designer if I can.

@Ann That outfit works so well.  I would feel really ladylike wearing that!

Yes, there is elastic. I try to work it round the back so the front sits well.  The pattern is Bootcut Jeans from Liberty Jane.

Not down to the heel on my first sock yet.  Not worth a picture - they are plain fawn, for a Certain Person.  It is a fine twist merino, and I keep catching my needle in the yarn and splitting it.  (but not noticing till 5 rows down) I prefer the self striping, you feel you are making progress when the pattern emerges.

@Sewingsue  Yes, you spent good money on it. Put it on ebay.

If it was crumbling, it would still do it after it was recovered.  you might as well know now, and get the foam replaced before you do it.
