This completely cracked me up.

I can see why it's a hard decision and I was slightly indecisive myself but I lean towards the maroon.  The contrast is nice and it looks more like a design choice while the gray seems more of a compromise.

Also, the maroon blends in more with the gilet.  The gray almost clashes or competes with it.

I had my Pfizer booster and second Shingles shot yesterday.  This time the shots were quick and didn't hurt.  No huge knot like the first Shingles shot (which was done by an incompetent technician  who was too slow).  Unfortunately I woke up quite sore in the middle of the night and had chills for about 30 minutes.  In spite of sleeping 10+ hours I feel exhausted today.  Everything hurts.  I think I'll be watching movies in bed all day. Not feeling up to doing much else today.

Now I'm done with all vaccines until the flu shot next year and any new Covid boosters that might come out.

 :VV: on your retirement @Acorn

I'm a full year and two months into mine and am still quite happy about it.  I thought I miss some things about my job but I don't miss a thing about it.

I've seen some feedback on blogs and such that the Mood patterns are often not very well drafted so if you decide to use one you will be well served making a mock up first.

edit: fix grammar error  :boohoo:

And don't point out any flaws you think you see to your grandchildren!

I think it's pretty nice and my personal favorite is the reindeer with lights.  :perfect10:

@sewmuchmore how well are those patterns drafted?  Mood Fabrics has free patterns but I've always read they are poorly drafted.  I keep thinking I should order some linen from FS because their prices are good but I am afraid it may be poor quality.

Nice!  It's my favorite color too.

I'm far too impatient to ever consider doing anything like that but I'm sure it'll be lovely when you complete it @Iminei

I tried FPP once probably 20 years ago and didn't even last a single block.  It was so tedious.

I bought one last year and lets say her waist is smaller than mine but hips/bust are spot on. Not a big deal since I don't wear fitted clothes.  I put an old bra on it.  Originally I had stuffed with some shoulder pads I had laying around but they weren't very smooth so I got some pushup gel bra cups instead.  I went one cup size bigger than I am because I was afraid they'd be to small otherwise but they were perfect.   Works very nicely and gives a smooth fit.

I am not sure of the brand name though. Not even sure it's available outside of the US.

Patterns Discussion / Re: Vogue Winter Patterns

@Tamnymore I've noticed this since something delightful (ugh) took over.  Fewer and fewer designer patterns.  It's almost as if they are letting any contracts they might have had run out.

I think the Júlio César blouse is sharp but it's not something I'd wear because I hate anything against my neck.  It is a flattering shape. Not much else of interest there though.  Not really much into winter wear given where I live.

I think it's far too complicated if it's not my coat. Nor would I want to risk screwing it up.  I would recommend that your friend take it to a professional.

If the lining allows access you could baste the waist and see if that works for her before making a more permanent seam.  But if you have to undo the lining then I would refer to my paragraph above.

Courses & Classes / Re: Craftsy Did you join? What have you watched?
« on: October 06, 2021, 20:30:19 PM »
I didn't join.  I downloaded all the courses I had bought when it was near the end of bluprint.  None of the new classes were any good.  I got the impression bluprint burned a lot of bridges with the original Craftsy teachers. Not sure if the "new" craftsy is back to making decent classes or not.

But probably I won't join anyway.  Since retirement I'm a little more careful with how I spend my money.  It's so easy to buy subscriptions and not use them.

I love the way you mixed the tie dye top with the print skirt and the print skirt with the tiny checked skirt.  You dress with such flair.
