Back from my booster jab, and...OWWWWWW!!!!! She hurt me.  :S
Didn't feel a thing from my first two. I'm expecting an extra-painful arm from this.

Luckily, I haven't got rained on but it's still very windy.

I could hear it was very blustery yesterday evening and into the night. Still windy now but it's stopped raining (for now).

I'm going to have to go out for my covid booster this morning and I expect I'm going to get wet. No point trying to hold an umbrella up when it's this windy.
I'll pop over to Aldi when my jab's been done. It's only over the road from the covid place.

I've got two jobs from the menswear shop but neither are urgent. I'll make a start this morning and carry on when I return.

Gertie's finally had a response from the (useless) landlord who said he WILL move the stuff out of the room on Monday (two days ago). She's not certain that he's actually done as he promised.
Her Dad's told him that he wants her moved in there before next Wednesday.

She's also mentioned that her 'friend', who already lives there, is a bit off with her.
I have a feeling that this particular move could fall through, and it might be for the best.

@Diane  Four hours!  :S

Dad phoned when he got home and said his appointment took about 2 and half hours. Lots and lots of faffing around and he said he walked all over the place to various waiting rooms for different tests.
My brother WASN'T allowed in with him and I think Dad ought to have had someone with him. His hearing is awful and I'm sure he won't have understood/heard a lot of what was said to him.

The weather's been vile all day and I've had to work with the lights on and the curtains drawn (for privacy. You can see straight through otherwise  :S ) Got all the work done.

It did eventually manage to stop raining and we've had some sunshine and a faint rainbow. It looks cold, damp and miserable now.

Brother phoned this afternoon to say he'd just dropped Dad off at the clinic and he was waiting in his car. It was for tests/assessment and not the actual op. He said he might pop round when they're done there...

BUT...he's just phoned again, almost 2 hours later, to say he's still sitting in his car waiting for Dad to come out.  :scream: He was given no indication of how long he was going to be and never thought to ask.
I don't expect my Dad will be very happy about being there for so long. He'll be worried about rushing back to cook dinner for himself and big bruv.

I've been awake for ages. Started to worry about Christmas stuff and couldn't get back to sleep.

I think we have rain forecast for much of today but it's dry at the moment.

I've got four pairs of trousers to shorten today and three are needed urgently for collection later on. Don't know if the Dry Cleaner will bring me anything. I'll find out soon. He's due any minute.

Dad has a cataract op today (I think). Brother thinks he has but Dad seems to think he's just got to go for test or something. Anyway, my brother is taking him to the appointment, whatever he's having done.

The flu jab hasn't happened. I'm sorry to say that I walked out. I've never done that before.  :embarrassed:
I don't need to go to my local surgery very often but every time I do, they've changed the 'rules' on how you book in (or don't book in. It varies and you have to guess what they expect you to do when you get there).

I've been hanging around in the seating area where the jab nurse is but today looks like I should have mentioned that I'd arrived. I had gone around to my GP's receptionist's desk when I got there but was ignored. Then I spotted a sign on the wall stating that you have to self book yourself in on the little screen thingies but they weren't I decided to sit and wait to be called through. There were only three people waiting so I assumed I'd be fairly quick...nope.

I've booked myself my covid booster for Wednesday morning. This time I'm going to a centre which is closer to home.  :thumb:

It's absolutely vile out there. It's getting darker and wetter  :S

Grey and gloomy this morning but dry.

I have an appointment for a flu jab this morning which is a first for me. I've never been called in for one before. I assume they'll mention my covid booster while I'm there, so I'll book that (unless they insist on doing that as well  :S ) Not sure that I like the idea of being jabbed with both on the same day.

My son might be working from home today. He's completing some online training for his job.
Daughter due back at some point. She's been to Devon so I don't expect her back until later this afternoon.

I've got no work. Got everything done on Saturday morning.

I've had the best nights sleep I've had in a long time  :meditate:
Light off at about 11-ish, woke for a short time around five-ish then properly woke at 8:30. Eight thirty!
Lots of dreams too including my favourite when I fly. Not in a plane either. Coooool. :thumb:

It's been very windy overnight. Think I tuned in to it when I woke at five and it was windy and wet before I went to bed.
Dry now and with a bit of blue sky showing through the clouds.

Don't know what I'll be doing today. Need to think of a few more gifts....

Blue sky this morning but still a bit damp from yesterday/last night (whenever it rained. I didn't notice it).

Gertie's going off today for a couple of days with her dad. She's currently in the shower.
Son will be going out later this afternoon with his GF to visit some rellies of hers and he really DOESN'T want to go.

I've got five pairs of trousers to shorten, so that's what I'll be doing.

Overcast and gloomy. We've had rain in the night.

This morning, I came downstairs to a  :x nasty litter tray again. This time due to a bit of a funny tummy. No idea what she might have eaten to create that. Hope that was the last of it, whatever it was.

Dry cleaner brought nothing again today  :S and mentioned what looked like a very nasty and serious accident which was partly blocking, and causing tailbacks on the main road out of Bilston. He said the car was in a dreadful state and he will be surprised if the occupant survived.
I expect the buses will be running badly all day now, and Dad's due in the next half an hour.
Gertie wants us to go into Wolverhampton after my dad leaves.

All work has been done this morning. Menswear needs to collect it later on.

I've had a lovely visit to Mum today. She seemed to be happy and didn't make a fuss when we left. Had a lovely hug from her just as we were leaving.  :)

I bleached Gertie's roots this morning and she then put a colour on. She's now lilac. It suits her. She's got quite a quirky look about her.

Made good progress this morning with my work. The biggest job is almost done.  :thumb: The other items are pinned up and ready to finish off.

It's chilly this morning but dry.
Woke up after an unpleasant and upsetting dream about my mum.

Came downstairs and the cat had left a mess for me to clean up. She'd issue  >< after using her litter tray so I had several brown stripes  :scream: to wipe off the floor before I could do anything else.

Gertie has booked my help this morning to bleach her hair  :\ and I have a visit booked to see Mum this afternoon.
I've got five alterations on my work rail. Three of them are time consuming, two are really simple. They're ALL needed urgently and will be collected tomorrow.

Nothing's happening with Gertie's house move. The landlord sounds a dopey sod and he hasn't bothered to clear some stuff out of the room to allow Gertie to start cleaning/painting.
Don't know what's happening. She still wants to move in and, 'can't wait'.

A bit of a 'do' / Re: Impossible wedding dress alteration

:scream: Blimey! That's a big job isn't it?

I think you've just got to be honest with her and if you don't want to get involved....don't!
That's exactly it, isn't it....unpicking the motifs to raise them up and also the scalloped hem. There's no nice quick and easy way of doing it.

Talk to her but be honest about how much it's worrying you.

It's a damp start to the day with light rain but it's fairly warm out. I've been out in the dark to top up the bird table and I managed to find a pack of suet balls in the corner shop yesterday so I've refilled that feeder too.

No sewing work today. I got it all done yesterday. Menswear due to visit later to collect (and drop off?)

Must try to find something useful to do today.
