Well, @classical retro , knitting on 5 means exactly what you say, though strictly speaking the knitting is on 4 needles because the 5th travels round, as it were.

I have tried knitting one item from the outside of the ball and one from the inside but the yarn has to be untangled fairly often which would be more nightmarish with that number of needles as well.  If the yarn is a 100g ball, you could wind off 50g of yarn using kitchen scales to get the right amount.

Ooh. Grey would work as the colour I have is a slightly bluish pink. Red/orange prob. clashy with that.

Still not saying  :ninja:

Thank you @Ploshkin a kind offer. It's not sock wool, I'm knitting slipper socks and am using Drops Nepal left over from my cardi and hat. I may have something to go with it or I could order an odd ball in.

Woo hoo! I did a tension square for some leftover wool and, wonder of wonders, it came out exactly right for the pattern. That NEVER happens! Only problem is that I haven't got enough for the whole job.

It must be the genes as I'm the same as @Ploshkin though our middle sister can crochet small shapely things - p'raps she's the milkman's child  ;)

They are beautiful, @CraftyIrish . I must remember to sew up the llama that I knitted when you sent me the pattern  :)

Brilliant @toileandtrouble ! I was wondering what to do about slippery bottoms  ;)

It's finished. But have I posted it yet? Or will I tomorrow? Or won't I?  :ninja:

Neither do I @Lilian - it's all part of the fun  :D

I think all this early-birding is going to help with the detective work - unless of course the makers have signed their creations  :D

I like K2 P2 rib. It always seems cosy and looks neat.

I'm in. I just bought some sock wool the other day

I have also been investigating 'slipper socks' as I would like to knit a pair for when my Tigger socks are in the wash. Haven't found a free pattern that I really like. Has to be knitted in the round, can't be doing with sewing!

P'raps it's the 2020 swap and has been in isolation for a year  ;)

I've only done one mug-rug swap, @Bill and I gave a fairly heavy hint without declaring myself entirely so the person could try and guess - which she did. Iirc I put a little knitted bear in with the package.
