Technical Help / fusible thread

So I have 3 trousers that my father in law wants taken up and have realised that the hem was held down with fusible thread from the overlocker raw edge. Has anyone ever used this kind of thread before on their home overlocker.

Sewing Machines / Which one

Hey all,
I have been saving to buy an industrial sewing machine.
I have narrowed it down to two, I was wondering does anyone here a have either of them and can help me choose.
They are the juki ddl 8700 heavy duty  and the juki – du-1181n.
Now I wanted one that would sew through leatherette and would be good for light fabric also,and I'm hoping it will be good for quilting too.

the peach one was the first i made i didn't like it until i made the second one and realised i didn't read the pattern right about putting little stitches in to hold the braids together. The first one i done to tight.

I still need to sort out where I'm going to put everything. I still have to paint it aswell.

Access All Accessories / Reusable straw pouches

I'm trying to make small easy things that I can sell. I bought myself straws so I can leave them in the car to use when we get kfc or McDonald's I really hate the paper straws. I wanted to make little pouches to store them in.
So I tried one off YouTube but didn't like it and it ended up too small, I should have waited for the straws to come.  :facepalm:
