@Iminei are you a mind reader? I just took the pic this afternoon.

Starryfish's 2nd entry

Style Arc Pyjamas in blue floral cotton with purchased white cotton piping. I made no change to the pattern other than my standard adjustment to the back of the trousers. ( 1/1/2" wedge added to the centre back seam to allow for my large derriere.)

I don't take photos of me in my pjs.

Starryfish's Entry
I made a skirt, a pair of trousers, a shirt , a top and two cardigans. The colour theme is taupe and dusty pink.
The skirt is Style Arc Bonnie midi length button front  from tawny linen,  it has a flat front waistband and an elasticated back waistband.  I made no changes.
The shirt is an Ottobre 3/4 sleeve pattern in a blush feather print, again no changes.
The cardigan is an Ottobre pattern which I have modified from the original.  As drafted it had welt pockets and a tie belt. The tie belt just gives me that sack of potatoes look so that went, and I replaced the pockets with patch pockets sewn into the hem and front band. The fabric is Linen jersey.

The top is Tessuti Kate in double gauze, made just as the pattern states.
The trousers are Style Arc Natasha made full length not 7/8 and I omitted the welt back pockets; they have a side zip.
The cardigan is Itch to Stitch Lisbon in ribbed ponte. Because of the fabric I made changes to the pattern, omitting the band at the hem and the sleeve cuffs. The front bands gave me a lot of trouble, I tried making buttonholes both by machine and by hand but neither gave a good finish. In the end I have left it unfastened as a boxy jacket/cardigan.

I quite like M8112, if you get past the dreadful sequinned fabric. It's a nice loose fit T, but I'm sure I could find one cheaper.

@Renegade Sewist , yes it has a zip so you can access the interior and take out/add stuff!

I am thinking of making a Closet Case giant pouffe, I have some moleskin fabric in two shades of green, as well as a reddish brown cushion velvet. It wouldn't go with the house decor but I would like it as a scrap store.

I've never had a name that people could spell. I was born an O'Riley , GreatGreat GF changed the spelling when the family converted to CofE after the local priest refused to come out to baptise a prem baby who then died and couldn't be buried in consecrated ground. I don't know why he didn't drop the O' as then people would be able spell it.
My first husband's parents were Polish who settled in the UK after WWII, so of course no one can spell or pronounce that. My children have had times when second wave Poles have spoken to them in Polish which they can't speak ( neither can ex H).
The present Mr S has a surname which people can't spell either. My son married a Smith and we were all amazed.

I did some ancestry searching and my paternal GF comes from @BrendaP's part of the world. The rest all come from Kent and Sussex. Agricultural Labourers feature on the census as well as servant.

Starryfish's 1st Entry -

Style Arc Cruise Club Kim- obviously not for a cruise( I never wanted to go on one before COV-19, now definitely not) . This is a night dress, made from some  floral viscose jersey from the stash.
It was perfectly straight forward to make, just overlocked the seams, topstitched the neck and armhole bands and twin needled the hem. The only thing I changed was to take in the armholes about 1", to hug the fabric close in to the armpits, I often have to do this on sleeveless jersey makes.

I'm just finishing the 6th piece, but if you want to extend I'm fine with that.

Technical Help / Re: FBA?

I don't mean to be indelicate but isn't that a bit low down? Could you slash from the shoulder through that diagonal seam instead?

295
I'm going to make some more Style Arc pyjamas in a blue floral cotton. Just got to wait for the piping to arrive and I can start them . Well, I'm going to make the trousers I just cut out 1st.

That will affect the button spacing I think. It looks like they have carefully designed it so all the buttons line up with the seams. Won't you have to change the diagonal seam so it meets the waist seam as well?

Some years ago I bought a Gutermann thread chart as I have to drive miles to get any. I have found it invaluable, it shows what size reels and weights of thread are available in any colour.

Sewing Spaces and Furniture / Re: At last!

My sewing space is in the loft and it does get very hot in the summer. I have a velux window and I must get round to making a blind for it. I also need a fan on very hot days.
