Make a mug rug using whatever technique you choose;
Traditional, modern, abstract, pictorial ....
pieced, appliqued, mixed media, crocheted, cross stitch,
Machine or Hand embroidery, FPP, redwork etc etc etc

You can make one Mug Rug or Go Mad and make a set of them ...
But please note that you must only expect ONE Mug Rug in return.

Its your choice, the only theme is to be AUTUMNAL in colours or topic

I think you mean the second annual autumn mug rug swap.

I think @Iminei  means bi-annual because of the spring equinox making it two mug rug swaps a year. :)

Not going to have time for this, sadly. I know it doesn't take long - apart from the planning which is about a three-week job  :o - but I have three BOMs to do after my holiday next week and Estate Agent photos to tidy up (again) for.

I'd love to but A) who are we kidding time wise for me and 2) my single post office for 120,000 people  :scream: is a death trap. Lines have always extended to the door or nearly so . It's layout is horrific for social distancing. You have 2 points that are like going through the spout of a funnel, slowly, like you're molasses on a cold day. Too dangerous.

Ah but do you @UttaRetch? Mine only occasionally have mugs set on them. Mostly they have phones, specs, remotes, emery boards, tweezers, pencils... everything that needs to be kept to hand but not scattered willy nilly all over the table.  0_0

@wrenkins, I prefer surfaces that can be wiped clean.  A mug rug looks pretty, but mine would be purely decorative.  :D

Much as I love these swaps, think I will skip this one as my sister and daughter are both moving house, so I’ll be doing well to cope with BOM quilt in between helping with packing, cleaning etc  :faints: I look forward to seeing them all, though!  :D

It will be a small select swap then ... The Equinox is the 22nd and Im thinking of releasing the swappees mid next week to enable you to get them to their new homes for the 22nd ...

Iminei - you can count me in - albeit mine will be 'loosely' autum but as haven't time to do any more two from my stash will suffice.
Incidentally I was having a cup of tea and watching the last house on Escape to the Country today and there was an article on it about old road signs and how they are made....and there was Blandford Forum 9 miles on one......wow - I actually 'know' someone from there!!

Yes, Dorset Fingerpost  (https://www.dorsetaonb.org.uk/project/dorset-fingerpost-project/)signposts are a dying breed in Dorset. One of the (taxi) drivers I used to work with was in a voluntary group to restore them and the biggest problem was that you couldn't just cast them en masse as the weird and wonderful place names round here are all different lengths !!

In my infinite wisdom I made mine too thick to run through my binding foot so had to deal with satin ribbon as binding with my normal sewing foot and all of the pins

It is a lovely thing to do - I have had @wrenkins' spring mugrugs by my end of the settee ever since spring, and now they will move onto the big coffee table so that @hernibs' autumn mugrugs can take their place.   :)

They arrived this afternoon, I was actually surprised as the post was so late I thought it wasn’t coming.  The colouring of the mug rugs is perfect for my living room but I don’t think I am going to let anyone put cups on them they are so pretty.


 With regard to your Him indoors, It’s surprising what a small world it is sometimes.

I just wish there was a proper Harvest Thanksgiving in Church this year as I would have taken @Kitten's rugs and used them on a windowsill with other autumn items of foliage etc.
Sadly there will be no decoration in our church this year, no social gathering to decorate the church which usually ends with tea and whatever cake is brought by us.
Hopefully we will have one 2021 and I will use them then.

I looked at that and thought 'Why has Sara-S put a quilt in the mug rug thread?'  Then I realised that those are really tiny squares - wow!  And so neat, too.   :thumbsup:

Yes they are.  And if you look closely, you will see the phases of the moon on some of the orange squares.

Aw, I completely missed out on this one, this year. I am not having a particularly easy summer/autumn. Long story and won't bore you, but as a result, I am not getting much time at all for sewing. I am having enough trouble trying to keep up with the BOM (and failing miserably) and trying to finish my little covid star quilt, which my daughter keeps swiping (it is at the thread burying stage) and uses on the couch. I have tried telling her to wait until I bind it, but...
Anyway, sad that I could not participate this time, but i am off to look at all the pretty mugrats   :D
