Fun with Fabric / Ribbing
« on: January 19, 2024, 17:49:45 PM »
Can anyone recommend were i can buy good quality ribbed fabric from. It is for a band around the bottom of a sweatshirt dress. Looking for brown or orange and something with very good recovery. I have bought of eBay in the past but it was awful, stretched out of shape as soon as you looked at it.

@SewRuthieSews I have bought from them and quality is fine and dispatch is usually quick. It is a bit misleading putting the address on the website as there is no bricks and mortar shop the address is just their registered office. They also sell on eBay

Vintage Machines / Feet?
« on: November 24, 2023, 17:44:42 PM »
Today my cousin brought me an old sewing box that belonged to an Aunt and in it were these machine feet. No idea what machine they fit, could they be Singer?
Any way if any one can make use you are more than welcome to them.

Hope it all goes as planned. Love the bit about horseplay on your website and how it won't be to tolerated. Always used to amaze me when i taught adult ed sewing classes how someone could pay £150+ but never showed any interest in the class or in getting on with sewing.

This company was at the sewing show yesterday. Part of the Franklin group. Gives you more options to self configure than Horn does although slightly more expensive. The lift mechanism is electric. Spoke to the rep who tells me that depending on what you order they will send a team to deliver and install and will tackle stairs. Horn only send one man and they won't take the larger heavier models up stair for you

Well the deed is done, got a good deal on my existing Pfaff but because Barnyarns are not a Brother dealer Callum advised i would get more money selling the V5 privately, any one interested? He has also sent me a £150 voucher for the shop as well. Discovered he lives not far from me so he is going to drop the machine off early next week on his way home.

Barnyarns have the Pfaff Creative Icon on special offer and pondering about getting it. I have the Performance Icon and Brother V5LE that i could part exchange.
Both less than 2 years old so hoping for a good deal.
I had the V3 for years and when it went for a service the man said it wanted the motherboard replacing at ££££££ with no guarantee that it would solve the problem and he could get me a V5 if i was interested, there was a waiting list of 6 months for the V3 at the time. I reluctantly agreed but always felt as if i had been conned into buying it. Even though the embroidery function is the same as the V3 i have never taken to the V5, a bit of resentment i think.
Anyway going to the sewing show in Harrogate tomorrow and will see what happens.
