I think I'm going to try making santa hats today, and if OH doesn't want to wear one then the large bear can!

In the wardrobe / Re: Zip Opinions Please

When you are wearing it, will the gilet be open, zipped or partly zipped? Are you planning to wear it only with black/grey and possibly maroon?

I know I would wear something like that probably partly zipped showing a bit of the lining up round the neck and I'd have black or grey bottoms but a more colourful shirt/jumper in the pink/red/marron family.

If you want to wear with another colour, then maybe the grey is the best.

I'm on the wrapping too, and OH is off to Aldi, exciting day ahead.
Haven't opened the curtains yet so don't know what its like outside, though it sounds a bit windy.

Fun with Fabric / Re: Making Christmas presents?

@WendyW please come and share over on the
Creating for the Festive Season thread as that includes presents!

I've been busy this year with the whole house thing (sold two places, bought one, much packing, unpacking and use of storage) so rather than stress myself out for this Christmas, have decided I'll gradually make things next year (especially shopping bags) so that I can gift them for next Christmas.

Sunny here at the moment, but I suspect cold outside.
This afternoon we are having a walk and then going for a curry.

We bought loads of Christmas presents and I said I'd wrap them all! Ooops

I'm thinking of making some sort of tote bags to put gifts in we are taking to people in person.
I'm not sure if something that looks like a 'gift' bag is better, or actually if a classic shopping bag would be better as the recipients can reuse it more afterwards.
I'm also not quite sure what would be a good size for them.

Boiler guy here today to see why the pressure keeps dropping.
Then off to do some Christmas shopping later.

@Sheilago what lovely pieces, the knitting is beyond my skillset, but I'm looking at the mug rugs and thinking 'hmmm maybe I could do that?'

We are off to see the Aussie Pink Floyd at Sheffield City Hall tonight, going for a meal beforehand, and happily my niece who is at Uni in Sheffield is joining us (free food for students!).
So that should be lots of fun.

I've got some reusable flexible chopping boards that are very thin which I use for bag bottoms.

Sewalongs and Competitions / Re: Autumn / Winter 3-piece Sewalong

I've been away - made masks before and after. Then started shortening some (dark grey) curtains from OH's old apartment to fit the window in the guest room here, I've kept taking them up and down to measure, cut, pin, check etc.
They are currently up with a pinned hem.

My other two fabrics for the 3 piece sewalong are on the back of the futon in the sewing room, but that's as far as I've got. I'm planning to use easy patterns which I've used before. If I can find the patterns they might get cut out this week.

However the curtains take priority, followed by working on my rainbow quilt, so we'll see how it goes.
