I recently knit toning colour blocked jumpers for my GC.
Middle GS’s sleeves are too short and I want to pull them back past the ribbing and add some length. They were knitted top down so there should be no problem.
Last night I tried to unpick the binding off but didn’t get very far, I weave ends in VERY well and there was no way to disentangle them.
Is the best way just to cut a centimetre or so off the bottom and hope to pick the end up and unravel? I have plenty of yarn so no problem there.

Is this hand knitting or machine?
Are you planning on adding the extra at the shoulder end or the hand end, sorry I was unsure from your wording.
If I was hand knitting I'd cut a narrow strip off the cast off edge if I couldn't unravel, and then unravel neatly as fr as I wanted to go, and then start knitting again.
But that may be of no use LOL :)
Good luck with it.

Okay, I'm with you now.
Yes if you can't unpick the cast-off I'd go back a row or two and just cut it away, and then unravel back to the plain part, add length with new yarn and rib and cast off with the new yarn too if you have enough :)
(I got my tops and bottoms muddled up :) )
