Hello and welcome @Cazlyn, hope you find some inspiration here!

Afternoon everyone. Not exactly a summer's day here either! Just heard the weather for pilots on O/H's radio, temperature given as 15C but dew point, or I guess wind chill, only 5C. Yes it is June.

Not much happening, I'm enjoying just altering various bits that have been lying around for a few years  at the moment, I did a cardigan yesterday. I also found some interfacing that I didn't realise that I had so I'll see how it goes.

A bit of garage sorting to do later on and some ironing.

Happy Anniversary @Starryfish!

it's all down hill now and shorter days, bit by bit.

As also said by the late Sir Terry Wogan,

still miss him in the mornings on the radio.

My usual Monday chores to be done and I have 3 bedding plants to find homes for.

Realised last week that perhaps it's not summer that I don't like but spring?.........

Need to hunt for some lightweight interfacing for neckline of a fairly lightweight rayon. I try to get away without using it whenever but I think this will need it.

Feel a bit flat too, as no doubt does everyone else, as today was supposed to be 'freedom day'.......People spacing themselves soooo widely in the supermarket checkout area that someone nagged at me for supposedly pushing in.....I didnt realise they were queuing as they were all about 9' apart!  I did apologise and wandered what seemed to be a very long way down, asking everyone if they were in the queue!

I did have a very temporary feel for wandering around the shops, but abandoned that idea due to tetchiness, and getting fed up with seeing the 'don't do this, don't do that' notices everywhere.......I think we well and truly have the message.  Also selfishly feeling grouchy about the extra 4 weeks as we were hoping to go away for a couple of days somewhere, but July 19th is when a lot of schools break up, so there will be others looking for breaks too - I always vowed that when I retired I wouldnt go on holiday during any school holiday time, and I wouldn't shop at the weekend either as that is often the only time most people can go, and we no longer need to.

I'll shut up now,  I am boring myself!

It's getting on my nerves as well @KayK! The other week in J Lewis there was a sign before you stepped onto the escalator 'to count 8 steps after the last person ahead of you'...........

We too had rain overnight, glad I took pictures of the garden before some of the flowers were battered by it. :(

Finally finished my linen jeans style pants alteration yesterday including shortening them. I also cut out a top but that was as far as it got! Listened to some old Sounds Of The 60s on the Sounds app while I sewed :) and O/H enjoyed the fly in, at 130 miles away it's the longest journey the car has made since Jan 2020!

Sorry your skirt met with deathly silence @b15erk, I've been there......

TV to watch this afternoon, so will prepare our evening dinner before so I can do bits of other things if I feel like it.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Brightening up a bit now but still feels a bit chilly. Have just finished topstitching the re done back seam on some linen jeans I've been altering, glad it's done but they may need the hem shortening now. It's a machine stitched one so not too bad.

O/H has gone to his first aircraft fly in (he doesn't fly though!) since summer 2019 so I have the day to myself for the first time probably since then. Think I'll cut out a blouse that could become a dress depending on the fit etc.

Postman has just delivered a new 'stick on the outside window thermometer' for the kitchen window. Other one had perished after many years but I miss just checking on the temps so well pleased!

I read this just at the right time, I have just looked at the wool I ordered, it’s Jamieson &smith Shetland it’s lovely but one of the colours isn’t right so I need to order another ball  do I just order 1 and pay postage or £25.00 worth and no postage  :thinking what would you do

just order 1 then you can have a 'spend' another time.  ;) Thinking of your decluttering efforts........ :)

No rain for us as yet  but grey and a bit cooler. After having my hair cut yesterday, he spent almost an hour just cutting it, nothing exciting planned for today. A bit of housework that I put off with the heat I suppose and making a shopping list. Still want to use up stuff from freezer for the next couple of weeks if we can.

I may get to cut out some fabric as well.......

As well as @Greybird haven't seen @Lowena. Hope all well with them both?

Enjoy your days. :)

Had a rotten night so feel only half with it. Hairdresser later as well.

Sorry your house hunt has to begin all over again @SewRuthieSews but glad your test were negative.

Technical Help / Re: The etoile dress-French poetry

@Tigermilk Have just seen a post on Instagram from French Poetry saying there is an update to this pattern. If you used a PDF pattern you can get the update free from the site. If you got a paper pattern you need to write to them and they will send you a new one.

Not much use when you have got this far I would expect but maybe it can help somehow.

We had a power cut during the nght, at 3.09am... So alarms blaring all around and clocks flashing madly. I eventually got back to sleep but O/H got up for a couple of hours so a bit of a late start for both of us.

Not much planned for the day, a few bits left over from yesterday as I had a nice call from my friend living in the US. We talked about stash that neither of us could envisage sewing up as no longer what either of us wanted to wear......

Feeling a bit down after the news yesterday as well, almost like 'what is the point?' because it will be the same story in 4 weeks time......

It's not that hot here either and grey. We've had a sprinkling of rain earlier as well. Not much planned apart from my usual Monday chores (I like to get things done at the start of the week or they seem to last the whole week long :()

There is tennis from Queens so I may have a look and perhaps cut out a bit of a muslin that may or may not work out in more ways than one!

Enjoy your days and stay the coolest you can!

Not as hot or as sunny as was forecast here so just warm and grey. We swapped the 4.5 duvet for the 1 tog one last night so washed the heavier one. Half dried it in dryer and it's still out on the line to be completely dry for when it cools down again.

Prepared a tray of roasted ratatouille (Delia's recipe) to have with lamb steaks later.

Spent half an hour searching for a pattern that I knew I had printed out. I had!

I know what you mean about aguilegia @Sandra ours are all over the place. We're about to chop the flowers off as I don't want anymore seeding themselves! Various shades of purple and pink.

Enjoy the rest of your days everyone!
