Wow - these are great. What a lovely collection. I only have mine which is the red Vulcan - the more old fashioned and substantial one. In fact it’s my avatar! I wish I had room for some more but sadly I don’t even have room for what I’ve got! It’s really interesting to see all the little toy Vulcan machines in a group. Are the ones in the cabinet Singers? I missed a lovely beige Singer which I bought on eBay but which the seller dropped and broke before sending it to me

I'd just bought one cheap on Ebay, but it's still worked out cheaper because of free delivery.
Yes, I do this a lot too. The postage costs are too high on some of these, and they don’t often have free postage days as they used to have. If you only want one or two patterns it’s a bit of a disincentive.

I'll just slip this into this thread but also look out for much reduced Kwik Sew patterns - for instance, Minerva has Kwik Sew at about a quarter of the original price .This will be because the brand has been phased out. It's a pity as they had some nice craft patterns.

Thanks @Tamnymore. They do seem to have a lot of craft patterns and some clothes too though not as many as they used to have. However the postage on Minerva is quite high for a single pattern…about £2.99 I think?

@Surest1tch - Me too  :D - it was just that I thought they used to be a bit more varied. I’m sure they are consolidating patterns under a specific brand more than they used to, but I suppose that makes good business sense.

I expect everyone has had the email, as I have, but just in case, Sewdirect are having one of their pattern sales on Butterick. 50% off and postage is about £1.50 I think. They definitely seem to be looking at the more mature sewer judging from the pattern styles, but lots of lovely dresses, and three patterns for culottes, as well as the Katherine Tilton, Palmer Pletsch and Lisette lines. It’s a bit lacking in pizazz but very useful patterns.

Thanks for that. I’m always up for a good bit of temptation  :VV. Especially for jersey fabrics which are often a bit uninspiring in the UK.

Thanks @Lizzy777 - I hadn’t spotted that one and the postage isn’t too bad.

Sorry to tell anyone who uses the C& H Fabrics Haberdashery departments, that some/all of these will be closing down. Generally C&H Fabrics is scattered around the South East. I know there are shops in Canterbury, Chichester, Tunbridge Wells and Brighton. This news is about the Canterbury C&H but I believe there will be more. It’s very sad and Canterbury will lose it’s only fabric shop. What a shame.

I’ve just noticed all the main sewing sites have the Simplicity sale, so far Jaycotts and Minerva. Any other pattern sales anyone know about?

:toast:Thanks @Kad - I’ve got my patterns now, and the weather for the new dress too. It seems. In case you’re  interested the Simplicity Sewdirect sale is now on too. Thanks Again.

Just started…. The Sewdirect Simplicity half price sale. I don’t know about postage prices - If anyone finds out could they add it to this post? Thanks.

I’d be interested in Simplicity 9139 and the Vogue boxes one. If you don’t get any takers for the rest you could post them to me, as I know my charity shop has a separate section for patterns and would definitely take them. (In aid of the Pilgrims Hospice) I have to take some in myself.
